Albarracín City Council announces a permanent labor position for a maintenance worker.

The Albarracín City Council has activated the selection process for the provision of one position of multi-service maintenance worker, in accordance with the rules published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Teruel (No. 2026-2448) on 17 August 2026. This call, processed under the free competitive examination system, forms part of the 2026 Public Employment Offer, approved by Resolution No. 2026-204 of 30 June 2026.

The position called is framed within the group of Professional Groupings (formerly Group E) and is assigned to the sub-scale of Trades/Special Services Staff of the General Administration scale. The post corresponds to a permanent employment contract, with a destination supplement of level 14, and will be filled through the general turn.

Functions and responsibilities of the post

The profile of the worker covers a wide range of tasks divided between multi-service functions and technical maintenance duties. The former include delivering notifications, posting official notices and public address announcements, as well as maintaining order at the municipal market stalls and cleaning public streets.

As for maintenance duties, the professional must be responsible for plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, locksmithing, masonry and painting tasks in municipal buildings and facilities. In addition, they will carry out basic gardening work, maintenance of water and sewerage networks, and upkeep of urban furniture and children’s playgrounds. A relevant aspect of the call is that the position of worker includes duties as second person in charge, assuming leadership of the service in the absence of the holder.

Requirements and application deadline

To participate in the selection process, applicants must meet the requirements established in Articles 56 and 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015 of 30 October (TREBEP). These include being over 18 years of age, holding Spanish nationality or that of a European Union Member State, and not having been removed from any public service through disciplinary proceedings.

In addition to the general requirements, candidates must prove that they hold the Certificate of Schooling or equivalent, as well as a valid type B driving licence. Applications must be submitted through the Electronic Headquarters of the Albarracín City Council or at its General Registry, within a period of twenty business days from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the Official State Gazette.

Selection process and examining board

The selection will be carried out by a Selection Board composed of a chairperson and four members, one of whom will serve as secretary. All members must hold a qualification equal to or higher than that required for entry into the position being offered. The board will be based at the offices of the Secretariat of the Albarracín City Council and will resolve all matters arising from the application of the rules.

The publication of the provisional list of accepted and excluded candidates will be made in the BOP Teruel and on the municipal electronic headquarters, establishing a period of ten business days to correct deficiencies or file claims. The process will culminate with the final approval of the list and the call for the selection tests, whose announcements will be disseminated through the website and electronic headquarters of the city council.
