Feader Grants of 1.87 million to conserve the Natura 2000 Network

The General Directorate of Natural Heritage of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has publicized the grants awarded for the conservation, recovery, and rehabilitation of natural and cultural heritage and ecological awareness in the Natura 2000 Network, in the natural parks and in the biosphere reserves of Galicia. The list of subsidies is published in the Official Gazette of Galicia number 159, Monday, August 24, 2026, page 46228, by means of the Resolution of August 7, 2026, signed by the general director María Sol Díaz Mouteira.

The grants are awarded under the Order of December 30, 2025, which establishes the regulatory bases and the call for the year 2026, on a competitive basis, with the procedure code MT814B. The call is co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 in Galicia, and the budget credit amounts to 1,870,000 euros.

Two lines of action

The credit is divided into two lines according to the destination of the actions, financed through the budget applications of project code 202400013 of the GDNH budgets for 2026:

• Line 1 (€100,000): actions in the biosphere reserves of Galicia.
• Line 2 (€1,770,000): actions in the Natura 2000 Network and in natural parks.

Beneficiaries and projects

In the biosphere reserves line, among others, are the Provincial Council of Lugo, with actions in the Os Ancares Lucenses and Terras do Miño reserves, and associations such as the Association for the sustainable development of the rural environment of the Allariz Area Biosphere Reserve and Rural Development Mariñas-Betanzos.

In the Natura 2000 Network and natural parks line, community forests in common (CMVMC) and neighborhood associations predominate, with projects for the restoration of riparian forests, recovery of native broadleaf masses, and improvement of habitats of community interest, as well as municipalities and individuals with actions for the recovery of ethnographic heritage:

• CMVMC Serra do Xurés, CMVMC Senderiz, CMVMC Serra de Lobios e Nichos, and other forest communities of Ourense and Lugo.
• Coirós Council, Trabada Council, and Pontedeume Council.
• Individuals with the recovery of stone walls, hórreos (granaries), and elements of popular architecture in spaces such as the Fragas do Eume natural park and the Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés.

Publication and legal framework

The publication responds to the provisions of article 15.1 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia, which requires the publicity of granted subsidies. The resolution bears the official identifier CVE-DOG: 2wxwpgy7-hdo7-8jp7-igd9-gjds16tyodj3.

The call seeks to promote the conservation and enhancement of the natural and cultural heritage of Galicia’s protected spaces, financing everything from habitat restoration to the recovery of ethnographic elements, in a commitment to biodiversity and sustainable rural development.
