The Ministry of Science, Industry and Employment of the Principality of Asturias has opened for public consultation the prior administrative authorization for a high-voltage electrical installation intended to power the electric vehicle charging points of the Amazon DAS1 logistics center in Granda, municipality of Siero. The announcement, processed under file AUTO/2026/83674 (AT-14248) with a budget of 91,504.18 euros, is published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) no. 196, dated October 9, 2026. Interested parties have 30 business days from the day following publication to submit allegations.

The procedure is based on Law 24/2013, of December 26, on the Electricity Sector, and Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, which regulates the activities of transmission, distribution, marketing, supply, and the authorization procedures for electrical energy installations. The Ministry of Science, Industry and Employment is responsible for issuing the resolution for prior administrative and construction authorization, while the processing of the file falls under the General Directorate of Energy and Mining.

Who is promoting the installation

The application is submitted by Amazon Road Transport Spain, S. L., which will transfer the installation to Hidrocantábrico Distribución Eléctrica, S. A. The project is located in the parking lot of the Amazon DAS1 logistics center, in the Granda 3 Industrial Estate, with cadastral reference 7174003TP7067S0001IH, in Granda, municipality of Siero. The connection point with the grid is located at UTM coordinates (ETRS89 zone 30) X=276,904, Y=4,806,766.85.

The declared objective is the power supply for the electric vehicle charging points in the parking lot of the Amazon DAS1 logistics complex up to 2,500 kVA, through various transformation centers, one of which is integrated into the same enclosure as the sectioning center but is the subject of another project.

Technical characteristics of the work

The projected installation comprises two main elements:

  • Company Sectioning Center (CS): new center in a prefabricated concrete kiosk, with interior surface operation, in a building shared with a subscriber transformation center, with independent access and a perimeter sidewalk.
  • Remote-controlled 24 kV cells (2L+1V): two motorized line cells for the entry and exit of the company ring line and one automatic circuit breaker protection cell for the output line to the subscriber, modular and with integral gas insulation.
  • Auxiliary services: single-phase low voltage line with XZ1 0.6/1 kV 2(1x50) conductor, 9 meters in length, with connection to a General Protection Box (CGP) scheme 01.
  • Double-circuit medium voltage underground line (LSMT): new 22 kV section, 8 meters in length, with HEPRZ1 12/20 kV 1x240KAl+H16 conductor, through newly constructed piped ducting running along public property roads.
  • Splices: between the new sectioning center and a projected manhole on a public road, where it will connect with the existing 22 kV LSMT owned by E-REDES “L000769”, coming from the Meres substation, to insert the CS into the rest of the distribution network ring.
