Renewal of an electric line in Navalmoral de la Mata authorized

The Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy, Science and Territory of the Junta de Extremadura has granted i-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes, SAU the prior administrative authorization to renew a section of a 20 kV medium-voltage underground line in Navalmoral de la Mata (Cáceres). The decision is detailed in a resolution dated August 28, 2026, from the Industrial, Energy and Mining Planning Service, published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura number 175, dated September 10, 2026, with reference 2026062267 and file AT-9717.

The action, submitted by the company on November 24, 2025, consists of the renewal of a section of the line between the transformation center CT “Magisterio” no. 140504500 and the CT “Resid.cna” no. 140500830, within line L-4081 1- “Autovía 1” of the STR “Navalmoral Mata” substation. The project is not subject to environmental assessment, and no objections were filed during the public information process, published in the DOE on February 6, 2026.

Regulatory Framework and Competence

The resolution is issued under Law 24/2013, of December 26, on the Electricity Sector, Title VII, Chapter II of Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, and Decree 221/2012, of November 9. Competence lies with the Autonomous Community of Extremadura by virtue of article 9.1.37 of the Statute of Autonomy, exercised through the General Directorate of Industry, Energy and Mines, upon which the Service signing the resolution depends.

Technical Characteristics of the Work

The new medium-voltage underground line presents the following essential data:

• Start: line cell of CT “Magisterio” no. 140504500, currently occupied by the underground conductor to be replaced.
• End: splices to be performed at the Ronda Sur with the existing line connecting CT “Magisterio” with CT “Resid.cna” no. 140500830.
• Length: 0.169 km.
• Service voltage: 20 kV.
• Line type: single-circuit underground.
• Conductor: HEPRZ1 12/20 kV 3x(1x240) mm².
• Location: municipal land, along Avenida Magisterio, Calle Río Guajira, and Ronda Sur-Calle El Gordo.

As a complementary action, 0.148 km of PR3PFJ 12/20 kV 3x95 Al CIRC type underground conductor will be dismantled or left unused.

Conditions and Appeals

The authorization is granted under conditions: the company must comply with electricity sector regulations, adhere to the submitted project, and meet the requirements of the affected administrations and entities, without prejudice to the necessary municipal licenses. An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against the resolution, which does not end the administrative process, before the General Directorate of Industry, Energy and Mines within one month. It is signed by the Head of the Service, Juan Francisco Lemus Prieto.

The renovation of this section of the medium-voltage underground network will contribute to modernizing and ensuring the reliability of the electricity supply in Navalmoral de la Mata, replacing an old conductor with one of greater capacity and improving the quality of service for residents and businesses in the area.
