Regadera Solar 45.44 MW photovoltaic plant authorized in Estadilla

The General Directorate of Energy and Mines of the Government of Aragon has granted the prior administrative and construction authorization for the “Regadera Solar” photovoltaic plant, with an installed capacity of 45.44 MW, located in the municipality of Estadilla (Huesca). The decision is formalized through the Resolution of July 31, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 171, dated September 3, 2026, with reference BOA20260903016.
The project, promoted by the company Regadera Solar, SL (NIF B06963268, based in Madrid), was requested on December 16, 2022, before the Provincial Service of Economy, Competitiveness and Employment of Huesca. The processing was carried out under files IP-PC-0226/2022 (General Directorate of Energy and Mines) and G-HU-2022-016 (Provincial Service).
A large-scale park in the Somontano
The installation will occupy a fenced area of 97.085 hectares in polygons 15, 16, and 17 of Estadilla, with a grid access capacity of 50 MW at the Grado 220 kV Substation, owned by Red Eléctrica de España. Its main technical characteristics are:
- 80,940 bifacial photovoltaic modules of 650 Wp, with a total power of 60.502 MWp.
- 142 inverters of 320 kW, totaling an active power of 45.44 MW.
- 13 transformation centers (three of 4,928 kVA and ten of 3,520 kVA).
- 30 kV underground interconnection lines to the substation.
- Economic guarantee file AV-ARA-02140 for 50 MW.
The technical project, signed by engineer José Luis Ovelleiro Medina (member number 1,937 of the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Aragon and La Rioja, visa VDO4525-22A), has passed the public information process, in which no objections were presented.
Shared evacuation with five other parks
One of the unique features of the project is that it shares the evacuation infrastructure with other photovoltaic parks in the area, already authorized by the resolution of July 6, 2026. The generated energy will be evacuated through the Regadera 220/66/30 kV Substation and 220 kV lines to the SET Grado (REE), serving:
- Regadera Solar
- Pasadizo Solar
- Busardo Solar
- Eider Solar
- Avejaruco Solar
- Grado Bensolar
The plant has a favorable environmental impact statement, formulated by the Aragonese Institute of Environmental Management on October 30, 2024 (published in BOA number 16, dated January 24, 2025), and access and connection permits granted by Red Eléctrica de España on July 11, 2022.
Territorial and heritage constraints
The resolution incorporates several conditions derived from sectoral reports. The Mining Section of the Provincial Service warned of the impact on the Common Salt exploitation concession number 2,180, owned by Sales de Monzón, SA, therefore the promoter must reach an agreement with the holder of the mining right. Likewise, the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage requires the exclusion and marking of the “La Mesa” archaeological site, included in the PGOU of Estadilla, and the archaeological monitoring of earthworks.
The Provincial Urban Planning Council considered the location authorizable, as it is an action of public interest on generic and special non-developable land, in accordance with the General Urban Development Plan of Estadilla.
A boost to the Aragonese energy transition
With this authorization, Aragón consolidates its position as a renewable generation hub in the Somontano of Huesca, adding a new large-scale park that, together with the five projects sharing its evacuation network, reinforces the photovoltaic production capacity of the province of Huesca. The plant will provide clean energy to the transmission grid and generate economic activity and employment in a rural territory, although its development will require reconciling renewable deployment with the protection of archaeological heritage and pre-existing mining rights.
