Photovoltaic hybridization with storage authorized in Guadalcázar
Por FactBox Admin

The Territorial Delegation of the Junta de Andalucía in Córdoba has granted the company Silver Ric Energy SL the prior administrative and construction authorization for the hybridization of the “Silverio I” photovoltaic plant with a battery storage system in the municipality of Guadalcázar (Córdoba). The resolution, signed on July 17, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 164, dated August 25, 2026, with reference BOP-A-2026-2908.
The authorization is part of file HI 25/008 and allows for the incorporation of a lithium battery energy storage module called “BESS Silverio 1” into the “Silverio I” solar photovoltaic plant. The hybridized installation will reach a total capacity of 47.32 MW, combining photovoltaic generation and storage capacity.
A project with precedents
The “Silverio I” plant already had prior administrative and construction authorization granted on March 20, 2023, under reference RE 18-021. Subsequently, the Territorial Delegation modified the construction authorization on December 9, 2025, and granted provisional and definitive operation of the installation on December 18, 2025.
The hybridization request was submitted on November 24, 2025. On February 3, 2026, the developer requested an exemption from the environmental assessment process in accordance with Article 6 of Royal Decree 997/2025, of November 5, regarding urgent measures for the reinforcement of the electrical system, following the favorable binding environmental report issued on January 19, 2023.
Technical characteristics
The existing photovoltaic installation and the new storage module present the following data:
- Photovoltaic generation: installed capacity of 21.527 MW, solar field of 29.937 MWp, and 19 inverters of 1,133 kW.
- Modules: 35,100 units of 678.5 Wp and 9,099 of 672.8 Wp.
- Storage: nominal power of 23.63 MW and total gross storable energy of 110.33 MWh.
- Equipment: 22 storage containers and 5 transformation center skids.
- Connection: 30 kV medium voltage underground line of 7.46 km towards the Almodóvar del Río substation.
The access and connection permit, updated by Red Eléctrica de España SAU on January 5, 2026, grants a capacity of 20 MW for connection at the Almodóvar del Río 220 kV substation.
Reports and consultations
The procedure included the transfer of documentation to the affected bodies, which issued a favorable report:
- Guadalcázar City Council, which initially raised objections regarding the visual impact along the A-3051 highway.
- Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation.
- Territorial Delegation of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing in Córdoba (Roads Service and Territorial Office).
- Territorial Delegation of Tourism, Culture and Sport in Córdoba.
- Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
- Red Eléctrica de España SAU.
Conditions and deadlines
The resolution enables the holder to construct the projected installation, which must be executed in accordance with the submitted project and the technical conditions of the reporting bodies. The holder must communicate the start and completion of the works, and the operating authorization will be governed by the 5th milestone of Royal Decree-Law 23/2020, provided that the total period does not exceed 8 years.
Against the resolution, which does not exhaust administrative remedies, an appeal for reversal (recurso de alzada) may be filed before the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines within one month. The resolution is signed by the territorial delegate, Agustín López Ortiz, and the head of the Energy Service, José María Pérez Gil.
The hybridization of “Silverio I” reinforces the storage capacity of the Córdoba electrical grid, a key step for the integration of renewables and supply stability, with a direct impact on the energy transition and local employment in Guadalcázar.
