Electrical grid authorized for 77 houses in Ribeira

The Xunta de Galicia has authorized the construction of an electrical distribution facility in the Cubeliño residential development, in the municipality of Ribeira, which will provide low-voltage supply to a building of 77 dwellings. The decision was adopted by the Territorial Department of A Coruña of the Ministry of Economy and Industry through a resolution dated August 25, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 165, of August 31, 2026 (announcement 2026/5633).

The resolution, signed by the territorial director Isidoro Martínez Arca, grants the prior administrative and construction authorization for the project presented by the developer Urban Update, S.L., under file IN407A 2026/118-1. The installation will be executed within a period of two years, counted from the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Gazette of Galicia.

The project and its location

The installation will be located at Rúa Cubeliño 20 N2-24, in the place of Cubelo, in Ribeira, and its objective is to supply low-voltage electrical energy to a building of 77 dwellings. The application was submitted by the developer on May 12, 2026, and the execution project was signed by the electrical industrial technical engineer Eva Pérez Boullon, collegiate number 2,790 of Santiago, on February 26, 2026, with a subsequent annex dated August 24, 2026.

The main technical characteristics of the installation are as follows:

• Underground medium-voltage line with conductor RHZ1-2OL 12/20KV 3x(1X240) Al, with origin and end at joints in the PMR802, with a total length of 2x188 meters.
• New 400 kVA transformation center in a prefabricated enclosure, with a transformation ratio of 20/0.40 kVA and a 2L+1P arrangement.

Regulatory framework and processing

The file was processed under article 123 of Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, which regulates the activities of transport, distribution, marketing, and supply of electrical energy. The project was not subject to the public information process, in accordance with article 50 of Law 9/2021, of February 25, on administrative simplification and support for the economic reactivation of Galicia.

A mandatory report was requested from the affected entities, including the Ribeira City Council, Augas de Galicia, and the Galician Infrastructure Agency (AXI). The file includes a technical report issued on August 24, 2026, and a favorable report from the technical services of the territorial department.

Conditions and commissioning

For the commissioning of the installation, the developer must provide the following documentation to the territorial department:

• Declarations of conformity regarding the material or equipment and certifications or approvals, if applicable.
• A certificate from the assembly director guaranteeing compliance with the project specifications and complementary prescriptions.
• The “as built” plans of the electrical installation in Shape format.

Approval is granted without prejudice to other authorizations that may be applicable according to current legislation, especially regarding land use planning and the environment. An appeal for reversal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against the resolution, which is not final in administrative proceedings, before the Minister of Economy and Industry within one month.

The authorization represents a key step in providing electrical supply to a building of 77 homes in a residential development in Ribeira, which will allow the completion of the promotion’s connection to the grid and facilitate its occupation. The two-year deadline for the execution of the works marks the horizon by which future residents will be able to have the electrical service.
