This is detailed in the Resolution of August 27, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands number 181, dated September 9, 2026, in the announcements section.
The file, identified as AAI-102-TF/001-2026, was requested by the entity Sertego Servicios Medioambientales, S.L.U. and concerns a facility located in the Fishing Dock (North Dock) of the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, within the municipal district of the Tenerife capital.
Regulatory Framework and Procedure
The processing is based on Article 16 of the consolidated text of the Law on integrated pollution prevention and control, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2016, of December 16, which requires the application for integrated environmental authorization and its documentation to be submitted for public consultation.
The procedure began on February 2, 2026, at the request of the applicant entity. The competent body to grant the authorization is the General Directorate of Environmental Quality, by virtue of Decree 1/2026, of January 26, which approves the Organic Regulation of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Energy.
Deadline and Method for Submitting Allegations
The resolution opens a public information process for a period of thirty (30) business days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, during which any reasoned allegations and observations deemed appropriate may be submitted.
Allegations may be submitted through several channels:
- At the local offices mentioned in the announcement.

- Electronically through the Ministry’s electronic registry.
The complete documentation of the file will be available for consultation on the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands, both on the department’s notice board and at the web address enabled for download.
Nature of the Act and Signature
The final resolution of the integrated environmental authorization procedure has the legal nature of an administrative act that does not exhaust the administrative route. The public information announcement will be inserted in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands and on the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The resolution was signed in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on August 27, 2026, by the Director General of Environmental Quality, Ángel Pablo Montañés Ríos.
The opening of this procedure represents an opportunity for citizens and interested entities to learn about and assess a project with a direct environmental impact on the capital of Tenerife, and to submit allegations before the final decision regarding the authorization of the waste treatment plant is adopted.
