Augas de Galicia awards the improvement of the water supply to Ribadeo and Trabada

Augas de Galicia, a public business entity attached to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of the Xunta de Galicia, has formalized the contract for the improvement of the water supply to Ribadeo and Trabada (Lugo) for a total amount of 7,471,538.61 euros. The project, awarded to the UTE Espina Obras Hidráulicas, S.A. & Construcciones Leonardo Miguélez, S.L., was published by resolution on September 2, 2026, in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 173, September 11, 2026, p. 48657).
The work is part of file AUG-2025-0128 and is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for 60% of the eligible expenditure, within the framework of the Galicia ERDF 2021-2027 program. The publication complies with the information and publicity obligation for co-financed actions provided for in Annex IX of Regulation (EU) no. 2021/1060 of June 24, 2021, and the provisions of Law 9/2017 of November 8 on public sector contracts.
Award and contractor
The contract was awarded on June 22, 2026, and formalized on July 17, 2026, following an open procedure subject to harmonized regulation and ordinary processing. The selected bid, for a net amount of 5,885,000.00 euros (7,120,850.00 euros including VAT), was the one that obtained the highest overall score according to the criteria of the specific administrative clauses tender.

European financing
The action, with CPV code 45231100-6 (general pipeline construction work), falls under political objective OP2 of the ERDF program, investment priority P2A (green transition), specific objective 2.5 (promotion of water access and sustainable water management), and action line 2.5.02 (increasing the resilience of supply systems). The tender notice was previously published in TED S188 on October 1, 2025.
The improvement of the water supply to Ribadeo and Trabada reinforces the resilience of a key water system in the province of Lugo, in a context of droughts and climate change, and guarantees a more reliable service for the population and the economic activities of the Mariña region.
