Por FactBox Admin

The Regional Ministry of Culture, Linguistic Policy and Sport of the Principality of Asturias has resolved to grant 75,000 euros to thirteen local entities to finance the operating costs of municipal museums and museographic collections during the year 2026. The decision, adopted by resolution on August 12, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) no. 164, of August 25, 2026, under code 2026-06888.
The aid is part of line 2A of the call for applications under a competitive bidding process aimed at Asturian local entities. The expenditure is charged to budget item 21.03.455E.462.001 of the General Budgets of the Principality for 2026, and payment will be made in full via bank transfer to the account designated by each beneficiary.
Regulatory Framework and Processing
The call is based on the regulatory bases approved by resolution on November 10, 2025 (BOPA no. 225, of November 21, 2025) and on the public call of March 6, 2026, the extract of which was published in BOPA no. 53, of March 18, 2026. The eligible activities had to be executed between January 1 and December 31, 2026, and the justification of expenditure must be submitted before January 31, 2027.
The Evaluation Commission, appointed by resolution on May 5, 2026, evaluated the applications at its meeting on July 6, 2026. The Cultural Institutions and Heritage Protection Service formulated the final grant proposal, which is included in Annex I of the resolution, and denied the application included in Annex II.
Beneficiaries and Amounts
The grants are distributed among thirteen local entities, with amounts ranging from 2,520 to 10,569.19 euros:

Denied Application
The only denied application corresponds to the Aller City Council, whose action plan project for the Vía Carisa Interpretation Center (CIVICA), with a budget of 7,844 euros and a requested grant of 6,275.20 euros, did not reach the minimum score of 45 points required in the call.
Beneficiaries must provide documentary evidence of the expenses incurred and the application of funds to the granted purpose before the Service of Cultural Institutions and Heritage Protection, and are obliged to expressly state that the activity is subsidized by the Department in all advertising and dissemination. The resolution, signed by the counselor Ana Vanessa Gutiérrez González, concludes the administrative process and allows for a contentious-administrative appeal within two months or an optional appeal for reversal within one month.
The injection of funds strengthens the Asturian municipal cultural network, allowing dozens of small town councils to maintain their museums and museographic collections, which are key pieces for the dissemination of local heritage in rural areas.
