Por FactBox Admin

The Department of Culture, Linguistic Policy and Sport of the Principality of Asturias has resolved to grant €1,199,999.97 in subsidies to sports clubs participating in high-level official competitions during the 2025/2026 season. The decision, adopted by resolution on August 24, 2026, signed by the counselor Vanessa Gutiérrez González, is published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) number 172, dated September 4, 2026, under code 2026-07190.
The call is processed under the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the regulatory bases approved by resolution on May 12, 2017, by the Department of Education and Culture. The call corresponding to the 2025/2026 season was approved by resolution on April 1, 2026, and the evaluation of the applications was carried out by the collegiate body designated on July 7, 2026, which met on July 30, 2026.
Grants by discipline
The bulk of the aid is distributed among athletics, basketball, handball, roller hockey, canoeing, rugby, volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics, pentathlon, skating, badminton, swimming, table tennis, American football, baseball, and duathlon clubs. Among the highest amounts are:
- Oviedo Club Baloncesto (Men’s Primera FEB): €56,748.90
- Club Balonmano Xuntura Base Oviedo (Men’s División Honor Plata): €56,748.90
- Club Patín Mieres (Women’s OK Liga Iberdrola): €56,000.00
- Club Patín Solimar (Women’s OK Liga Iberdrola): €56,748.90
- Belenos Rugby Club (División de Honor Élite): €38,500.00
- Club Badminton Oviedo (División de Honor): €36,719.87
Inadmissibility of applications
The resolution also declares five applications inadmissible, listed in Annex I, for various reasons:
- C. D. B. Asturias Blue Jays: for not having six months of seniority registered in the Registry of Sports Entities.
- Aptri C. D. B.: for not falling within the eligible categories.
- Club Pentatlón y Triatlón Mieres: for not falling within the eligible categories.
- Sociedad Cultural y Deportiva Ribadesella: for failing to submit the application via electronic registry, which was mandatory.
- Asociación Deportiva Playas de Llanes: because the sports modality was not included in the call.
Payment method and justification
Payment will be made in advance of the signing of the resolution for subsidies that do not exceed €6,010; the remainder will be paid following the accreditation of the activities held and upon prior justification of the expenditure. The deadline to justify the aid before the General Directorate of Sport ends on November 3, 2026, in accordance with articles 30 and 31 of Law 38/2003.
The resolution concludes the administrative process; a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Asturias within two months of its notification.
With this financial injection, the Principality supports the structure of regional elite sports, from honor categories to grassroots divisions, across some twenty disciplines. The publication in the BOPA serves as official notification to the interested parties, providing legal certainty to the beneficiary clubs for the current season.
