Asturias convoca ayudas de hasta 4.000 euros para prótesis dentales a mayores

The Department of Social Rights and Welfare of the Principality of Asturias has announced grants of up to 4,000 euros per applicant to finance dental prostheses and treatments for people over 65 years of age with incomes below the limit set in the call itself. The measure is published via the extract of the Order of October 27, 2026, in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) No. 210, of October 29, 2026, with the identifier BDNS 938318 and the official reference Code 2026-08957. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 business days starting from the day following the publication of the extract, that is, from October 30, 2026.

Regulatory Framework and Prior Processing

The call is approved along with the regulatory bases through the aforementioned order, which accompanies the extract published in application of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17. The full text of the call can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database, at the link associated with identifier 938318.

This is not an improvised initiative: the proposal for the regulatory bases underwent a prior public consultation on March 19, 2026, and subsequently, a hearing process agreed upon through the Resolution of August 20, 2026, of the Department, published in BOPA No. 170, of September 2, 2026. The procedure is resolved under a competitive bidding regime and through a simplified procedure.

The declared purpose is to improve the oral health and quality of life of elderly people with limited economic resources residing in Asturias, as well as to promote healthy aging and prevent or mitigate situations of dependency and fragility.

Applicant Requirements

Natural persons who can prove, on the date of the application, compliance with the following conditions may apply for the grants:

  • Reside in the territory of the Principality of Asturias and be registered in one of its councils; those who do not have Spanish nationality or that of a member state of the European Union must also have a valid residence permit.
  • Have reached 65 years of age by the last day of the application submission period.
  • That the income of the family unit to which the applicant belongs is lower than the maximum annual amount established in the call.
  • Possess a report from a dentist, a medical specialist in Stomatology, or a medical specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery legally authorized to prescribe the treatment, certifying the need to access the treatment or to acquire prostheses and other oral health support products.
  • Not incur any of the prohibitions to be a beneficiary provided for in article 13.2 of Law 38/2003.

Amount and form of granting

The maximum amount per applicant will be 4,000 euros in total, regardless of whether the aid is destined for one or several of the three concepts detailed in the call. The amount granted will be the lesser of two quantities: the amount requested according to the budget presented by the interested person or the maximum set when the budget exceeds it.

The aid will always be expressed as a whole number, such that any amount with decimals will be rounded down to its lower integer.

Where and how to submit the application

The official form and its annexes are available on the electronic office of the Principality of Asturias (www.asturias.es), accessible via the service file code AYUD0568T01, titled “Subsidies for elderly people for the financing of oral health benefits.” The submission channels are:

  • Electronically, at the electronic office of the Principality of Asturias (https://sede.asturias.es), with the code AYUD0568T01.
  • Through the General Electronic Registry of the General State Administration (https://rec.redsara.es).
  • In person, at the Citizen Service Offices of Oviedo (calle Antonio Suárez Gutiérrez, 2, planta plaza, CP 33005), Gijón (calle Mariano Pola, 3, CP 33212), and Avilés (calle del Muelle, 8, CP 33402).
  • By any of the means provided for in the current regulations.

The order is signed in Oviedo on October 27, 2026, by the Counselor of Social Rights and Welfare, Nerea Monroy Rosal.

Impact for affected households

The call for applications arrives with a very tight schedule—fifteen business days—and a procedure that requires gathering the dental report and the treatment budget before submitting the application, two documents that condition actual access to the aid. For many elderly people with low pensions, the cost of a full dental prosthesis is unaffordable; therefore, the 4,000 euro threshold covers a large part of the typical expense and makes this the first regional line specifically oriented toward this group in oral health.
