Por FactBox Admin

The Regional Ministry of Science, Industry and Employment of the Principality of Asturias has resolved to grant 71,701.93 euros in aid for the holding of events, conferences, forums, and business meetings within the Asturian territorial area during 2026. The decision, adopted by resolution on August 20, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) number 166, dated August 27, with code 2026-07100.
The call, approved by resolution on March 5, 2026 (an extract of which was published in the BOPA on March 17), authorized an expenditure of 90,000 euros to finance these grants, charged to project PEP 2024/000229 of the General Budgets of the Principality for 2026. The regulatory bases were approved by resolution on June 24, 2025, published in the BOPA on July 9, 2025.
Three lines of financing
The credit is divided among three lines of action, each with its own budgetary application and an initial allocation of 30,000 euros:
- Local corporations (application 14.04.722A.466.004): 30,000 €
- Private companies (application 14.04.722A.476.011): 30,000 €
- Non-profit entities (application 14.04.722A.486.053): 30,000 €
The final amount granted amounts to 71,701.93 euros, distributed as 11,701.93 euros for local corporations and 30,000 euros for each of the other two lines. The grant covers 100% of the eligible expenses planned in each project, up to a maximum of 10,000 euros per beneficiary.
Evaluation and order of priority
The Evaluation Commission, the collegiate body competent to evaluate the applications, met on June 23, 2026, and found that the maximum authorized credit was not sufficient to meet all the applications that met the requirements in the lines for private companies and non-profit entities. Consequently, and in accordance with section 8.4 of the call, the grant was made after a comparison of applications, establishing an order of priority according to the evaluation criteria until the credit was exhausted.
In the local corporations line, the credit was sufficient to meet all valid applications, so it was not necessary to establish an order of priority. The commission issued a favorable report and proposed the grant to the entities in Annex I, and an unfavorable report with a proposal for denial for those in Annex II, for failing to meet the requirements or not reaching the minimum required score.
Obligations and appeals
Beneficiaries are obliged to provide adequate publicity regarding the public nature of the funding for the subsidized activities, under the terms of section 13.i of the regulatory bases. The resolution is notified through its publication in the BOPA, and a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against it before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Principality of Asturias within two months, or an optional appeal for reversal before the counselor within one month, provided that both are not filed simultaneously.
The resolution, signed in Oviedo on August 20, 2026, by counselor Borja Sánchez García, represents direct support for the Asturian business and associative fabric by financing the organization of meetings that stimulate economic activity and collaboration between companies, entities, and local administrations in the territory.
