Asturias grants 265 Youth Rent Bonus subsidies totaling 994,211 euros

The Regional Ministry of Territorial Planning, Urbanism, Housing and Citizen Rights of the Principality of Asturias has resolved to grant 265 subsidies from the 2026 Youth Rent Voucher for a total amount of 994,211.00 euros, according to the Resolution of September 4, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) No. 178, of September 15, 2026 (official reference Code 2026-07437). The same resolution denies 205 applications and declares another 43 as withdrawn, after evaluating a total of 513 files.

The aid, signed by the Director General of Housing by virtue of the delegation of powers of the Resolution of November 23, 2023, is framed within Royal Decree 42/2022, of January 18, which regulates the Youth Rent Voucher and the State Plan for Access to Housing 2022-2025. Its purpose is to “facilitate the enjoyment of a home or room under a rental or transfer of use regime for young people with limited economic means.”

Financing and call for applications

The program is financed with funds transferred by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, which, through a Resolution of November 21, 2024, authorized the financial commitment of 6,600,000.00 euros charged to application 25.09.261N.754 of the General State Budgets. The Government Council authorized the expenditure by Agreement of December 17, 2025, distributed as 3,300,000 euros for 2026 and another 3,300,000 for 2027.

The subsidies were called for by Resolution of January 2, 2026 (BOPA No. 11, of January 19, 2026). The procedure is processed under a direct grant regime, attending to applications in strict order of submission until the program budget is exhausted.

Result of the resolution

The expenditure is allocated from the budgetary application 13.04.431A.785.003 of the General Budgets of the Principality of Asturias for 2026. The beneficiaries are listed in Annex I of the resolution, with aid covering from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025.

• 265 subsidies granted for 994,211.00 euros (Annex I).
• 205 applications denied due to failure to meet requirements (Annex II).
• 43 applications declared withdrawn (Annex III).

In some files, the full 24 subsidizable monthly payments were not granted due to circumstances such as the lack of continuity of the lease agreement, lack of justification of rent payment, absence of registration (empadronamiento) in the home, or the existence of an incompatible aid.

Obligations and appeals

Beneficiaries are obliged to communicate any modification of the conditions that led to the granting of the aid and which may determine the subsequent loss of the right to the subsidy. An administrative appeal may be filed against the resolution before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Asturias within two months, or an optional appeal for reversal before the Department within one month, provided that both are not pursued simultaneously.

The resolution represents a new boost to housing access for young Asturians with limited resources, in a context of rising rental prices. With 265 beneficiaries served and an expenditure close to one million euros, the Principality materializes one of the most demanded support lines, although the number of denials and withdrawals evidences the high level of competition and the rigor in the verification of the call’s requirements.
