Asturias grants 23,181 euros from the extensive grazing eco-scheme to ten livestock farmers

The Regional Ministry of Rural Environment and Agricultural Policy has granted the payment for the carbon farming and agroecology eco-scheme for the practice of extensive grazing for the 2024 campaign to ten beneficiaries, for a total amount of 23,181.20 euros. The Resolution of September 4, 2026, signed by the Director General of Livestock and Agricultural Health, is published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias no. 184 of September 23, 2026 (Code 2026-07566). This act concludes the administrative process.

The aid is part of the call approved by the Resolution of March 18, 2024, of the same ministry, intended for direct payments to agriculture and livestock and payments for rural development subject to the integrated management and control system of the 2024 campaign (extract published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias no. 59 of March 22, 2024). Among the called payments are the schemes in favor of climate, environment, and animal welfare, with two distinct lines: humid pastures and Mediterranean pastures.

Following the submission deadline, the procedure recorded a total of 7,113 applications. After the investigation, the resolution determines that ten applicants meet the requirements of Article 30 of Royal Decree 1048/2022, of December 27, and are up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations, with no debts to the Tax Administration of the Principality of Asturias in accordance with Article 13.2 e) of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17.

Ten beneficiaries and 23,181.20 euros

The resolution authorizes, provides for, recognizes the obligation, and orders the payment to the ten beneficiaries listed in Annex I, which begins with NIF/CIF 09442388Z and ends with NIF/CIF 76959199A, for the amount of 100% of the eco-scheme for humid pasture areas, extensive grazing practice, 2024 campaign.

The expenditure is charged to the budget application 19.02 712F-473.010, with project code (PEP) 2024/000190 and FEAGA item 080204040000080010001000240.

Unit amounts per hectare

The final applicable unit amount was set by the FEGA OA in the first fortnight of May, according to the communication from its president on May 9, 2025, and Article 124.4 of Royal Decree 1048/2022, which allows for the payment of the second balance before June 30 up to 100% of the aid. The values are:

• Damp pastures, tier 1 (≤ 65 ha): €54.492708/ha.
• Damp pastures, tier 2 (> 65 ha): €43.58/ha.
• Peninsular Mediterranean pastures, tier 1 (≤ 95 ha): €35.891965/ha.
• Peninsular Mediterranean pastures, tier 2 (> 95 ha): €27.23/ha.

Accumulated payments for the 2024 campaign

This resolution is added to the partial payments already issued for the same practice and campaign, totaling thousands of recipients:

• Resolution of November 26, 2024: 5,574 beneficiaries, 70%, €4,499,778.05.
• Resolution of December 27, 2024: 6,089 beneficiaries, 90%, €2,793,950.36.
• Resolution of February 28, 2025: 366 beneficiaries, 90%, €417,248.35.
• Resolution of May 26, 2025: 6,570 beneficiaries, 100%, €3,168,270.75.
• Resolution of June 25, 2025: 93 beneficiaries, 100%, €51,187.37.
• Resolution of July 25, 2025: 12 beneficiaries, 100%, €32,325.96.
• Resolution of September 30, 2025: 1 beneficiary, 100%, €4,173.07.

The authority to resolve falls upon the Director General of Livestock and Agricultural Health by delegation of the counselor, according to the Resolution of September 16, 2025 (Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias no. 187 of September 29, 2025), within the scope of the management of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

Appeal process

A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against the resolution before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Principality of Asturias within two months from the day following its notification. An optional appeal for reversal may also be presented to the same body that issued the act within one month, provided that both are not filed simultaneously.

The closing of this payment phase confirms the execution pace of the extensive grazing eco-scheme in Asturias, a key line for damp and Mediterranean pasture farms that depend on CAP aid. For the affected livestock farmers, publication in the official gazette activates the deadlines for collection and potential challenge.
