Asturias abre ayudas de 350 euros por receptor SAT-TDT en alta definición

The Principality of Asturias has opened the application period for grants intended to compensate for the purchase of high-definition “HD” SAT-DTT receivers in areas without digital terrestrial television coverage. The call was approved by the Department of Science, Industry, and Employment via a resolution dated September 7, 2026, and is published as an extract in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) No. 189, dated September 30, 2026, with the official reference 2026-07820. The grants amount to 350 euros per receiver and can be requested until October 30, 2026.

The measure responds to the economic impact that the technological improvement of digital television has had on households in rural and mountain areas. The call is framed within Royal Decree 391/2019, of June 21, which approves the National Technical Plan for Digital Terrestrial Television, and is processed under a competitive bidding regime through a simplified procedure. The regulatory bases are the resolution of the Department of Science, Industry, and Employment of July 4, 2025, and Order CIE/2/2026, of June 1, 2026, the first modification of said bases. The extract is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and its full text is available in the National Grants Database with the identifier 929629.

Who can apply and what are the requirements

Eligible beneficiaries will be natural persons who have acquired a high-definition “HD” SAT-DTT receiver intended for a property located in the Principality of Asturias, in areas lacking terrestrial television coverage. The requirements are:

  • To have purchased the receiver through an authorized SAT-DTT distributor after January 1, 2023.
  • To have had the device validated by the Administration of the Principality of Asturias on the receiver registration management portal for the complementary extension of DTT coverage via satellite, www.sattdt.es.

Only one grant may be awarded per property. Exceptionally, the call allows up to two receivers per property in areas where the DTT signal broadcasting service via terrestrial means ceased after January 1, 2025, and the signal began to be received via satellite, provided that the acquisition was also made after that date and the receiver is validated on the same portal. Those who fall under the circumstances provided for in Article 13, paragraphs 2 and 3, of Law 38/2003 are excluded.

Amount, financing, and eligible period

The call has an allocation of 10,000 euros, charged to the budgetary application 14.02.521A.785.040 of the General Budgets of the Principality of Asturias for 2026. The amounts are:

  • 350 euros per high-definition “HD” SAT-TDT receiver.
  • A maximum of 350 euros per property, exceptionally extendable to 700 euros for up to two receivers.

The amount granted may not exceed, either alone or in conjunction with other grants, aid, income, or resources, the cost of the subsidized activity, nor be higher than the amount requested. The eligible period comprises acquisition expenses incurred between January 1, 2023, and October 30, 2026.

Deadline, processing, and electronic submission

The application submission period opens the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias and ends on October 30, 2026. The priority of applications will be determined exclusively by their submission date, provided they meet the requirements, and the aid will be awarded until the available credit is exhausted; if it is exhausted, pending applications will be automatically dismissed. Incomplete applications must be rectified, and the valid date will be the date the deficiencies are corrected.

Processing must be carried out electronically, in accordance with article 66.6 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. The standardized form is available on the electronic office of the Principality of Asturias (sede.asturias.es), with the service file code AYUD0529T01, and applications shall be addressed to the Department of Science, Industry, and Employment. The summary was signed in Oviedo on September 7, 2026, by the counselor Borja Sánchez García.

The call for applications reaches households that were left without terrestrial coverage following the switch-off and reorganization of DTT, a group facing an additional expense to continue watching television. With an allocation of only 10,000 euros and 350 euros per receiver, the credit covers around thirty grants, meaning the application submission date will be decisive for accessing the subsidy.
