Asturias opens grants for sports clubs for 2026 events

The Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) publishes in issue number 166, dated August 27, 2026, the summary of the Resolution of August 18, 2026, from the Department of Culture, Linguistic Policy, and Sport, approving the public call for grants for sports clubs in the Principality for the organization of sporting events during the year 2026. The call, identified in the National Grants Database with the code BDNS 925674, opens an application period of ten business days.
The measure is framed within Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants, and is published as a summary in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a, with the full text referred to the National Grants Database. The regulatory bases derive from the Resolution of June 1, 2017, of the Department of Education and Culture, published in the BOPA on June 8, 2017.
Beneficiaries and purpose of the aid
Legally constituted basic sports clubs of the Principality of Asturias that organize sporting events during the 2026 financial year may apply for these grants. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis and cover the organization of:
- Sporting events included in the official competition calendar of the corresponding sports federations.
- Competitions whose tradition and popularity make them eligible for differentiated treatment.
Amount and deadlines
The call has a total allocation of 350,000 euros, with a maximum amount per project of 45,000 euros. Interested parties will have a period of 10 business days to submit their applications, counted from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOPA.
Regarding justification, the general period is two months from the date the event is held. For events held prior to the date of the award resolution, the justification must be submitted within one month from the publication of said resolution in the BOPA.

The service file is available on the electronic office of the Principality of Asturias (miprincipado.asturias.es), which can be located by entering the code AYUD0189T01 in the header search bar. There, the full text of the resolution, complementary information, the standardized application form, and the option to electronically initiate the process can be found.
The resolution, signed in Oviedo on August 18, 2026, by the Minister of Culture, Linguistic Policy and Sport, provides a direct boost to the local Asturian sporting fabric, which will be able to finance the organization of competitions and events throughout the year. With a budget of 350,000 euros and a cap of 45,000 per project, the call for applications strengthens the activity of grassroots clubs, which are key to the promotion of sport in the councils of the Principality.
