Ascó calls for the vacant Treasury position via service commission

The Ascó City Council has published the call and the rules to fill the Treasury position, currently vacant within the civil service staff, with urgent and non-deferrable character. The decision, signed by the mayor-president Miquel Àngel Ribes Jornet on September 4, 2026, was made public in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on September 9, 2026, with the official reference CVE 2026-08412 (file 2841/2026).

The filling of the position is processed in accordance with article 81.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the Revised Text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee, and with the procedure established in articles 48 and 51 of Royal Decree 128/2018, of March 16, which regulates the legal regime of local administration civil servants with national qualification.

Characteristics of the job position

The Treasury position is offered with the following remuneration and classification conditions:

• Access group: A1
• Level: 29
• Monthly specific supplement: €1,078.30
• Form of occupation: secondment (comissió de serveis) and other non-permanent forms of coverage
• Duration: one year, extendable in accordance with current regulations

The functions are those provided for in the specific regulations of the scale of local administration civil servants with national qualification, Audit-Treasury sub-scale.

Requirements and submission of applications

Persons who are career civil servants of the local administration scale with national qualification, from the Audit-Treasury sub-scale, may participate. Applications must be submitted within five business days starting from the day after the publication of the announcement in the BOP.

Submission shall preferably be done electronically, although it can also be formalized through the general registry of the City Council or by any of the means established in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure. Applications must be addressed to the Ascó City Council through the electronic office.

Award criteria

Once the deadline for submitting applications has ended, a suitability report for each applicant will be issued, taking into account preferably:

• Experience in job positions similar or identical to the one called
• Specific studies and training related to the functions and tasks of the position
• Other curricular aspects that the applicant may provide

An interview may be conducted, if deemed appropriate, to verify the professional profile of the candidates. The report will include a reasoned proposal in favor of one of the candidates, which will be submitted to the Mayor’s Office to fill the position through the secondment system.

The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona and on the City Council’s electronic headquarters, and it is forwarded to the College of Secretaries, Auditors and Treasurers of Local Administration of Catalonia (CSITAL) so that it may be publicized on its website.

The filling of this position, reserved for civil servants with national qualification, is key to guaranteeing the economic and financial management of the municipality of Ascó, which is currently without a head of the Treasury. The call, processed as urgent, will ensure the continuity of the council’s control and budgetary management functions within a short period.
