As Pontes Emprende: 40,000 euros in grants for business creation

The City Council of As Pontes de García Rodríguez has just announced the municipal grants As Pontes Emprende, endowed with 40,000 euros to support the creation of businesses during 2026. The call for applications was approved by resolution 1570/2026 of the acting Mayor, dated 4 August, and its extract is published in Official Bulletin of the Province of A Coruña No. 153, of 13 August 2026, with announcement number 2026/5298.

The programme, registered in the National Database of Grants (BDNS) with identifier 924198, is published in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of 17 November, the General Law on Subsidies. The specific regulatory bases were previously approved and published in BOP No. 150, of 10 August 2026, and the full text of the call can be consulted in the BDNS.

Purpose and beneficiaries

The objective of the programme is to encourage the creation of new business projects and to promote business activity in the municipal area, thus contributing to job creation in the City Council of As Pontes de García Rodríguez. The following may apply for the grants:

• new business projects undertaken within the municipality by individual entrepreneurs and by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), regardless of their legal form;
• projects that have started their activity no more than 5 years before the date of publication of the call;
• natural or legal persons who carry out the initiative in the municipal territory.

Amount and form of payment

The total budget of the call amounts to 40,000 euros, distributed between two municipal budget allocations for financial year 2026:

• 15,000 euros charged to budget allocation 2026.433.47000;
• 25,000 euros charged to budget allocation 2026.433.77000.

The grant payment will be made in a single instalment, after verifying that the supporting documentation submitted is correct and in accordance with the purpose of the grant. This documentation must already form part of the application.

Deadline, procedure and compatibility

Applications must be submitted exclusively electronically, through the City Council’s electronic office (sede.aspontes.com), from the day after the publication of the extract in the BOP of A Coruña — that is, from 14 August — until 30 September 2026.

The grant is compatible with other aid, public or private, although in no case may the municipal amount be such that, in conjunction with other income or aid, it exceeds the cost of the activity justified by the beneficiary. The extract is signed by the acting Mayor, Manuel Rodríguez López, dated 10 August 2026.

The call represents a concrete opportunity for entrepreneurs and local SMEs, in a declared commitment by the municipality to reactivate the productive fabric and employment in As Pontes de García Rodríguez. Interested parties have until the end of September to submit their application, and the full text of the rules is available in the National Grants Database.
