As Pontes and Ferrol open grants for ANPAS and solidarity prize

The Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP number 164, of August 28, 2026) publishes this Friday two calls for grants of social and educational interest. On one hand, the City Council of As Pontes de García Rodríguez opens subsidies for the ANPAS (Parents’ Associations) of public primary schools for the “I have breakfast at school” program for the 2026-2027 academic year; on the other, the City Council of Ferrol announces the 2026 City of Ferrol Solidarity Award to recognize initiatives of solidarity, cooperation, and volunteering.

Subsidies for ANPAS in As Pontes
Resolution number 1642/2026 of the Acting Mayor, dated August 20, approves the regulatory bases for subsidies aimed at the ANPAS of public primary schools for the development of the “I have breakfast at school” program, with BDNS identifier 926231.
The objective is to organize the granting of aid under a competitive process to respond to the socio-labor needs of families and promote the reconciliation of family and work life. The specific bases were published in BOP number 161, of August 25, 2026.
- Total amount: €43,600.00, charged to budget application 2026.320.48900.
- Beneficiaries: Legally constituted, non-profit ANPAS of the municipality’s public primary centers.
- Application deadline: ten days from the day following the publication of the summary, exclusively electronically via the city council’s headquarters.
- Justification deadline: until July 15, 2027.
- Compatibility: the subsidy is compatible with other aid, provided that the sum does not exceed the cost of the justified activity.
The resolution is signed by the Acting Mayor, Elena López Seco.
2026 City of Ferrol Solidarity Award
The City Council of Ferrol announces the 2026 City of Ferrol Solidarity Award, with BDNS identifier 926255, to reward the efforts of initiatives and projects developed in the fields of solidarity, cooperation, and volunteering, in two categories.
- Category 1 (solidarity and volunteering projects in a local context): 6,000 euros.
- Category 2 (international cooperation projects and protection of basic social rights): 4,000 euros.
The maximum total amount amounts to 10,000 euros, attributable to item 04001-2315-48000. The specific bases were published in BOP number 160, of August 24, 2026.
- Candidates: social entities (associations, NGOs, foundations) and natural persons who meet the requirements of article 2 of the bases.
- Application deadline: 15 business days from the day following the publication of the call.
- Processing: the instruction corresponds to the social services technical staff and will be resolved by decree of the competent department, within a maximum period of six months.
The call is signed by the special delegated councilwoman for Social Policy and Inclusion, Rosa Martínez Beceiro. The granting of the award is subject to the existence of adequate and sufficient credit in the municipal budget, in accordance with article 56.2 of Royal Decree 887/2006.
Relevance for readers
These two calls reinforce municipal support for family reconciliation and the social fabric of the province. While As Pontes allocates nearly 44,000 euros to guarantee school breakfasts and family reconciliation, Ferrol rewards the work of entities and volunteer individuals with 10,000 euros, a commitment to local and international solidarity that will be resolved in the second half of 2026.
