As Pontes allocates 416,000 euros to sports entities in 2026
Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of As Pontes de García Rodríguez is allocating 416,000 euros in grants for non-profit sports entities in the municipality, under a competitive bidding process and for activities carried out between January 1 and December 31, 2026. The regulatory bases were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 207, dated October 29, 2026, under announcement number 2026/6943, and are signed by the delegated councilor for the Area of Urban Agenda, Tourism, Sports, and Economic Promotion, Elena López Seco, dated October 23.
The call is established under Law 7/1985 on the bases of the local regime, Law 5/1997 on local administration of Galicia, Law 38/2003 general law on subsidies, the Galician subsidy law, and Title V of the execution bases of the 2026 municipal budget. Its objective is to support sports entities and encourage citizen participation, incorporating criteria for gender equality and inclusive language.
The economic allocation is assigned to a single application:
- 416,000.00 euros charged to budget application 2026.0.341.48900.
- The maximum subsidizable amount is 95% of the activity budget, meaning the own financing coefficient shall be at least 5%.
Ten-day deadline and mandatory electronic application
Applications must be submitted exclusively in electronic format, using the official model in Annex II, through the municipal electronic office (https://sede.aspontes.com), using the digital certificate of the legal entity or the natural person representing it. The deadline is ten days counting from the day following the publication of the call’s summary in the BOP, and only one application per holder is permitted: if several are submitted, only the first one will be considered.
Along with the request, the documentation accredited in the bases must be provided:
- Photocopy of the entity’s CIF and the representative’s NIF.
- Certification of bank details and a sworn statement of other grants requested for the same purpose.
- Certification of the board of directors’ agreement and the appointment of the representative.
- Certification of the number of active members as of January 1, 2026.
- Explanatory report of the activities, competition calendar, and federative certification of current licenses.
- Estimated budget of expenses, forecast of income, and amount requested.
Missing documentation may be corrected within a period of ten days from the request.
Three evaluation criteria out of 100 points
The evaluating commission will compare the applications and establish a priority order. The scoring is distributed as follows: up to 40 points for the impact and degree of interest of the activities, up to 40 points for suitability to municipal interest, and up to 20 points for the promotion of grassroots sports and the breadth of the age groups served. The granting of the aid corresponds to the delegated councilwoman, based on the commission’s proposal, which requires a report from the sports service as the instructing body.
The commission is composed of the councilwoman for sports as president, two councilmen or councilwomen appointed by the mayor, two municipal workers, and staff from the processing unit in the secretariat, with voice but without vote. A prior report from the Comptroller’s Office (Intervención) regarding the existence of credit and the prior auditing of the expenditure is mandatory.
Admissible expenses and transport limits
Only the concepts included in the budget accepted in the granting resolution will be financed: technical personnel, coaches, physiotherapists, monitors, and coordinators with an employment contract; federation expenses, licenses, and insurance; refereeing and timing; non-inventoriable sports equipment; clothing; transport and subsistence during travel; insurance and ITV (technical inspection) of the entity’s vehicle; rental of facilities, public address systems, and applications; advertising, screen printing, websites, medical expenses, and ambulances; cash prizes, medals, and trophies.
Fuel expenses with a private vehicle are limited to 30% of the total cost of the activity, except for the transport of essential equipment such as bicycles, canoes, or rowing boats. When the expenditure exceeds the minor contract threshold, it will be necessary to request three offers. Prizes exceeding 300 euros will be subject to IRPF (income tax) withholding, and gifts or trophies in kind are not permitted.
80% advance and justification until November
Payment is split: an 80% advance after the granting resolution, without prior justification, and the remaining 20% once the totality has been justified. For the advance, a guarantee must be established for the advanced amount plus 20%, except for grants under 3,000 euros, which are exempt.
The justification period ends on November 30, 2026, extendable, with an absolute limit of January 31, 2027; failure to submit within fifteen days of the request implies the loss of the right to payment and reimbursement with late-payment interest. The entity that does not justify correctly will not be able to apply for the following year’s call. The rules also require the text “Concello de As Pontes” to be displayed on competition gear and collaboration in the Gala do Deporte Pontés.
The call provides financial coverage for the local sports associative fabric in a fiscal year in which the City Council demands clear counterparts of visibility and expenditure control. For the clubs, the calendar is tight: only ten days to submit an application that requires federative certifications, number of members, and a detailed budget by concept, and a justification that closes two months before the end of the year.
