Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of As Pontes de García Rodríguez has definitively approved the general budget for the 2026 financial year, with a total amount of 16,025,405.42 euros in income and expenditure. The decision was adopted after dismissing the claims filed against the initial approval, and was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 163, dated August 27, 2026, under announcement number 2026/5585.
The budget had been initially approved by the Plenary of the Council in an extraordinary session held on July 1, 2026. The claims filed under article 169.3 of the recast text of the Law regulating local finances were dismissed by plenary agreement on August 24, 2026, which allowed the municipal accounts to enter into force.
Budget Figures
The document, published with a summary by chapters, reflects a balance between income and expenditure. Current operations account for practically the entire budget.
- Current income: 15,965,405.42 €, of which direct taxes contribute 6,490,578.38 € and current transfers 7,546,264.86 €.
- Current expenditure: 15,811,594.94 €, with 6,447,788.81 € in personnel costs and 8,341,442.63 € in current goods and services.
- Capital operations: 153,810.48 € in expenditure, with 98,090.48 € in real investments.
- Financial operations: 60,000.00 € in financial assets.
2026 Personnel Table
Along with the budget, the personnel table is published, in compliance with article 127 of the recast text of the legal provisions in force regarding local regime (RDL 781/1986, of April 18). The table lists the positions of career civil servants, temporary staff, and permanent contractual staff.
- Career civil servants: includes positions for the secretariat, intervention and treasury (national authorization), general administration technicians, economist, architect, local police, and trade personnel, among others.
- Temporary staff: one position assigned to the mayor’s office.
- Permanent contractual staff: librarians, cleaning staff, social workers, pedagogues, psychologist and legal advisor for the CIM, radio and television staff, conservatory teachers, and social services personnel, among others.
Appeals and Validity
Against the definitive approval of the budget, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed directly within a period of two months from the day following the publication of the edict, as established by article 171 of the aforementioned recast text. The announcement was signed by the mayor, Valentín González Formoso, dated August 24, 2026.
The entry into force of the accounts guarantees the financing of municipal services and the Council’s public policies for the next financial year, in a municipality with a broad personnel structure ranging from general administration to culture, social services, employment, and the music conservatory.
