Arroyo de la Luz announces one-hundred-euro grants for preschool students
Por FactBox Admin

The Arroyo de la Luz City Council has announced school grants for the 2026/2027 academic year, intended to cover the purchase of books and school supplies for students in Early Childhood Education (ages 3 to 5). The call, approved by Mayoral Resolution on September 1, 2026, is processed through a competitive bidding procedure and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0171, dated September 7, 2026.
The measure, signed by Mayor Carlos Caro Domínguez, seeks to alleviate the current family expenditure that increases with the start of the school year, an effort that the council considers “considerable and difficult to bear in many households,” thereby avoiding social exclusion.
Amount and Budget
Each beneficiary who meets the requirements will receive 100 euros, charged to budget allocation 326/48005 of the 2026 General Municipal Budget, which allocates a total of 2,000 euros for this grant line. In the event that the number of applicants exceeds 20, the initial amount will be proportionally reduced to ensure a linear distribution of the scholarships.
Requirements and Documentation
Students enrolled in Early Childhood Education in the municipality’s schools who meet the following requirements may be beneficiaries:
- That the gross monthly income of the household unit does not exceed the established limits, ranging from 1,200 euros for a single-member unit up to 3,000 euros for ten members.
- Lack of movable or immovable assets that denote sufficient income, except for the family home.
- Not being subject to the circumstances that prohibit being a beneficiary as provided for in Article 13 of Law 38/2003, General Law on Subsidies.
- The grant will be incompatible with other scholarships for the same purpose from any entity or organization.
Applications, addressed to the mayor, shall be submitted at the City Council’s entry registry or through the means specified in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, within ten days from the publication of the summary of the call in the BOP. Among other documents, a photocopy of the ID (DNI), the Family Book, income records for the previous six months, the 2025 tax return, the employment history (vida laboral), and the third-party registration form must be attached.
Evaluation and Justification
The evaluation of applications will be the responsibility of a Selection Commission composed of the Councilor for Social Affairs, a social worker from the Tajo-Salor Mancomunidad, a City Council employee, and an official who will act as secretary. The commission will submit a provisional resolution proposal to the mayor, with a ten-day period for appeals, and the final resolution must be issued within a maximum of fifteen days.
Payment will be made via bank transfer, and the beneficiary must justify the acquisition of books and school materials before December 15, 2026, by means of an invoice issued by any establishment or bookstore in Arroyo de la Luz, for at least the amount of the grant received. Failure to comply with this obligation will result in the reimbursement of the aid.
The call for applications is also published on the Municipal Electronic Office and on the notice board for wider dissemination, and the resolution is final in administrative proceedings, although a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Court of Cáceres within two months.
