Arrecife fija para el 6 de noviembre el examen de Auxiliar Administrativo

The Arrecife City Council has called for the first exercise of the competitive phase of the selection process to fill one position for Administrative Assistant (subgroup C2). The scheduled date is Friday, November 6, 2026, at 4:00 PM at IES Las Maretas (San Francisco Javier), located at Rambla medular S/N, Arrecife. The agreement is formalized through Resolution no. 2026-12302, dated October 28, 2026, signed by the mayor-president Yonathan de León Machín and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, number 131, dated November 2, 2026.

The announced position is a civil service post, belonging to the General Administration scale, Assistant subscale, group C, subgroup C2, and carries the staff code Func2_1029. Its inclusion in the public employment offer dates back to the 2023 fiscal year, approved and published in BOP number 157, dated December 29, 2023, and the specific rules were approved by Decree number 2024-10951, dated December 4, 2024, published in BOP number 150, dated December 11, 2024.

The procedure reached this phase following the opening of the application period in BOE number 128, dated May 26, 2026, and the publication of the provisional list via Decree 2026-8054 (BOP number 81, dated July 8, 2026). The correction period extended from July 9 to July 22, 2026. The now-published resolution is based on proposal PR/2026/12550, dated October 28, 2026.

220 admitted applicants and 36 excluded

The final list is closed with 220 admitted applicants and 36 excluded, for whom no further corrections are possible. There are five typified causes for exclusion:

  • Providing a photocopy of the Identity Document without the original for certification.
  • Failing to present the required academic degree, or doing so only via photocopy.
  • Failing to provide Annex II (participation application), or submitting it unsigned.
  • Failing to justify payment of the examination fee or prove exemption.
  • Submitting the application out of time, i.e., outside the interval from May 27 to June 23, 2026.

Among the excluded, several accumulate two, three, and up to the first four causes, and one applicant is listed under cause 5 due to late registration.

Qualifying Board and call by letter B

The resolution also approves the composition of the Qualifying Board, which will be constituted on November 4, 2026, at 10:30 AM via telematics. The published appointments are:

  • Presidency: titular Lidia Sánchez Suárez, career official TAE A1 of the Arrecife City Council; substitute Anabel Montelongo González, administrative assistant C2.
  • Secretariat: titular Sheila Betancort Rocío, career official TAG A1; substitute Óscar Cabrera Pérez, nationally qualified official and Secretary of the City Council.
  • Titular Members: Loyola Hernández Álvarez (administrative assistant C2), Ana Sofía Sigut Arbelo (TMG A2), Martín Robayna Rodríguez (TAE A2) and Myriam Ramírez Curbelo (TAE A2).
  • Substitute Members: M. Victoria Cabrera Fernández, Irene Manchado Toledo, Miguel Ángel Naverán Guerra and Jaime Ismael Abdul-Jalbar Martín.

The calling of candidates will begin with the letter “B”, in accordance with the draw published in the BOE number 161, of July 3, 2026.

Appearance at 16:15 with ID (DNI)

The exercise will be held at IES Las Maretas, a center located at Rambla medular S/N, postal code 35500, in the municipality of Arrecife. Admitted candidates must:

  • Appear on November 6, 2026 at 16:15 hours, fifteen minutes after the time set for the exercise.
  • Be provided with their DNI (ID).
  • Remain attentive to the call, which will begin with the first surname starting with “B”.

The failure of a candidate to appear once the calling has ended automatically determines the forfeiture of their rights to participate in that exercise and subsequent ones, resulting in exclusion from the selection process. The final list and the call for applications will also be disseminated on the municipal electronic office and on the Arrecife City Council website.

One month for the appeal for reversal

Against the resolution, which ends the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month before the City Council itself, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Las Palmas, according to article 46 of Law 29/1998. Filing for reversal prevents recourse to the judicial route until its express resolution or its dismissal by silence.

The call affects a single administrative assistant position, but mobilizes 256 people between admitted and excluded candidates, which demonstrates the competition in local public employment in Lanzarote. For the 220 candidates remaining in the process, the calendar is now very tight: barely four days separate the publication of this resolution and the holding of the first exercise, and exclusion no longer allows for any correction.
