Argoños awards the concession of its four padel courts for ten years

The Plenary of the Argoños City Council has awarded the administrative concession contract for the private use and operation of the municipality’s four paddle tennis courts. The agreement, adopted at the session held on August 5, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria (BOC) number 154, of Wednesday, August 12, 2026, within the administrative contracting section. The awardee, Paula González García, will operate the facility for ten years in exchange for an annual fee of €20,000.

The notice, processed under file number 2026/6384 and official reference CVE-2026-6384, publicizes the award agreement in compliance with Article 8.1.a) of Law 19/2013, of December 9, on Transparency, Access to Public Information and Good Governance. The contract was tendered through ordinary processing and an open procedure based on an estimated value of €859,900.00, and with this award, the operation of a municipal sports facility passes to private management for the next decade.

Award conditions

The municipal plenary adopted the agreement at its session of August 5, 2026, as stated in the notice signed by the mayor, Juan José Barruetabeña Manso. These are the main conditions of the published contract:

Appeal deadlines and publicity

The published agreement puts an end to the administrative route. Against it, interested parties may alternatively file a potestative motion for reconsideration before the full City Council within one month, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, or an administrative contentious appeal before the Administrative Contentious Court of Santander within two months, in accordance with article 46 of Law 29/1998, of 13 July, on the Administrative Contentious Jurisdiction. The announcement is published for general knowledge in compliance with transparency regulations and is signed in Argoños on 5 August 2026 by the mayor.

With this concession, Argoños guarantees the operation of its paddle tennis courts for the next ten years and stable income of €20,000 per year for the municipal coffers. The entry of a private operator into the management of these facilities, classified as a public service for sports use, will also condition schedules, reservations, and fees, a matter of direct interest to the residents and users of the municipality.
