Arcos submits the Draft of the Urban Development Plan to public consultation.

The Plenary of the City Council of Arcos de la Frontera, in an extraordinary and urgent session held on June 9, 2026, agreed to approve the Draft of the Urban Development Plan (POU) of the municipality and subject it to publicity and public participation for a period of 45 business days. The notice, signed by the mayor Miguel Rodríguez Rodríguez, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz No. 156, of August 14, 2026 (notice No. 257.539), within the Local Administration section.

The processing complies with Law 7/2021, of December 1, on the Impulse for the Sustainability of the Territory of Andalusia (LISTA), and with Decree 550/2022, of November 29, approving its General Regulation (RGLISTA), articles 77 and 101 of which precisely regulate this phase of publicity and participation. The Draft establishes the territorial model and the general planning criteria of the municipality, so it will condition the future urban development of Arcos de la Frontera and directly affects owners, developers, and residents.

The plenary agreement provides for the publication of the notice and the making available of the documentation for public consultation. The document now disseminated constitutes the starting point of the municipality’s new urban planning, which will have to be completed in successive phases until the final approval of the plan.

A period of 45 business days to participate

The approved documentation may be consulted for forty-five (45) business days, counted from the day following the publication of the notice in the Transparency Portal and on the Municipal Edicts Board of the City Council, in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz, on the municipal website, and in one of the newspapers with the greatest provincial circulation.

In-person consultation is available at the offices of the Municipal Urban Planning Service, located at Avenida Narciso Monturiol, 41, in the Polígono El Peral industrial estate of Arcos de la Frontera, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. During this period, any natural or legal person may examine the documentation and submit, in relation to the territorial model and the general planning criteria set out in the Draft:

Documentation subject to consultation

The file opened to the public includes, among other documents, four volumes:

• Volume I. Information Report.
• Volume II. Diagnosis.
• Volume III. Planning Report.
• Volume IV. Participation Report.

The consultation on the preliminary draft is the first major opportunity for citizens to influence the urban model that will govern Arcos de la Frontera in the coming years: the contributions received will shape the definitive planning that replaces the current one. The announcement, dated 31 July 2026 and signed by the mayor Miguel Rodríguez Rodríguez, thus begins a process in which owners, developers and residents can assert their position before the document continues its processing.
