Aragón subvenciona a la Universidad de Zaragoza la mediación familiar

The Government of Aragon has granted a direct subsidy to the University of Zaragoza for the development of family mediation and family intervention in the autonomous community. The grant was formalized through a collaboration agreement signed on September 23, 2026, and is now published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 203, dated October 20, 2026, by means of Order PJC/1485/2026, of October 5 (csv BOA20261020013).

The order, issued by the Vice Presidency of the Government and Department of Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport, orders the publication of the agreement registered in the General Registry of Agreements under number 2026/4/0026. The text appears signed by the Vice President and Councilor for Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport and, by delegation, by the Technical General Secretary of Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport, Cristina Asensio Grijalba, in accordance with the Order of November 28, 2024.

The agreement was signed by the Vice President and Councilor for Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family of the Government of Aragon and the Rector of the University of Zaragoza, Rosa María Bolea Bailo. The publication is supported by sections 5 and 6 of article 151 of Law 5/2021, of June 29, on the Organization and Legal Regime of the Autonomous Public Sector of Aragon, and article 13 of Decree 57/2012, of March 7, which regulates the General Registry of Agreements of the Autonomous Community of Aragon.

Object: family mediation and intervention

The object of the agreement is the development of family mediation and family intervention in Aragon, according to the title of the published provision. These are two services aimed at families in conflict and situations of vulnerability for minors, which are thus covered by regional funding through the Aragonese public university.

The order published in the BOA does not detail the amount of the subsidy, the execution period, or the annual installments: it refers to the full text of the agreement, available in the General Registry of Agreements (aragon.es/registrodeconvenios) under number 2026/4/0026. The direct subsidy is the modality provided for in the Aragonese legal system in article 31 of the consolidated text of the Subsidy Law of Aragon, approved by Legislative Decree 2/2023, of May 3.

The action is based on Law 9/2014, of October 23, on Support for Families of Aragon, which provides for education, support, and family intervention programs focused on the protection of minors, in order to empower families in the exercise of their parental responsibilities and promote the permanence of minors in their family environment. The same regulation includes among its objectives family intervention in situations of conflict, violence, and abuse within the family.

Competence over these policies corresponds to the Department of Deregulation, Social Welfare, and Family, and within it to the General Directorate for Family, Childhood, and Natality, according to the organic structure established by Decree 18/2024, of January 30, modified by Decree 14/2026, of January 28.

Other lines of support for families

The grant to the university coexists with other calls from the same department. Order DBF/1294/2026, of September 4, published in BOA number 175, of September 9, 2026, calls for 2026 grants destined for projects regarding families, childhood, and adolescence by non-profit entities. The resolution of October 2, 2026, approved the proposal for the granting of these aids for a total amount of 310,000 euros.

The reinforcement of family mediation arrives in a context of public care for families in conflict, a field in which the autonomous community combines direct funding to entities and universities with competitive calls for the third sector. The publication in the BOA provides official publicity to the agreement and allows for its full consultation through the regional registry of agreements.
