Aragón resolves the audiovisual production grants for 2026

The Vice Presidency of the Government and Department of Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport has resolved the call for audiovisual production grants for the 2026 financial year, intended for the creation of medium-length or feature films by companies in the Aragonese audiovisual sector. The resolution is formalized through Order PJC/1223/2026, of August 4, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 160, of August 19, 2026 (reference BOA20260819020).

Thirteen grants are awarded in the project development category and eight grants in the production and post-production category, for a total amount of 680,000 euros. The order, which exhausts administrative remedies, is signed by the Vice President and Councilor María del Mar Vaquero Perianez.

Regulatory Framework and Processing

The grants fall under the exclusive competence of the Autonomous Community in matters of culture (article 71.43 of the Statute of Autonomy of Aragon) and are governed by the regulatory bases of Order ECD/1248/2022, of September 6, and by the call of Order ECD/1914/2025, of December 19, published in the BOA number 12, of January 20, 2026.

The application period was ten business days, from January 21 to February 4, 2026, and 64 applications were received: 27 for development and 37 for production and post-production. The Evaluation Commission assessed the remaining 62 projects on April 14, 2026, following the correction of thirteen applications and two withdrawals.

Beneficiaries and Amounts

The credit is divided into 130,000 euros for the development category and 550,000 euros for the production and post-production category. In the development category, the final grant awarded to Prolight Servicios Audiovisuales SL for the project “Berna, el arte en sus manos” amounts to 4,351 euros, the remaining amount until the credit was exhausted.

In the production category, a tie of 97 points occurred between Du Cardelin Studio SL (“Ana como el agua”) and Perseidas Films AIE (“Perseidas”), who split the remaining 126,000 euros at a rate of 63,000 euros each. Accepted reformulations include:

• Francisco Javier Macipe Costa, project “La escuelita de la nueva visión” (reformulated budget of €14,225.46).
• Amperio Producciones Culturales SL, project “Canfranc, La Epopeya” (€14,580).
• Du Cardelin Studio SL, project “Ana como el agua” (€80,600).

The four appeals submitted by Lupa Oliveros SL, Freeman Ideas & Creación Audiovisual SL, Perseidas Films AIE, and Ultreia Films SLU were unanimously dismissed.

Obligations and Deadlines

The grants are subject to the de minimis regime of Regulation (EU) 2023/2831, therefore the total amount granted to a single company may not exceed 300,000 euros over three fiscal years. The justification of expenses, incurred between November 14, 2025, and November 13, 2026, must be submitted via the electronic office of the Administration of Aragon before November 19, 2026.

Payment will be made once the fulfillment of the purpose and the justification of the project have been credited, provided that the beneficiary is up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed against the order within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the High Court of Justice of Aragon.

The resolution represents a direct boost to the Aragonese audiovisual fabric by financing both the development phase of new projects and the production and post-production of medium-length and feature films, contributing to the creation of its own audiovisual heritage and the generation of employment in the Community’s cultural sector.
