The Vice Presidency of the Government and Department of Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport has resolved the call for audiovisual production grants for the 2026 financial year, intended for the production of short films by companies in the Aragonese audiovisual sector. The resolution is materialized in Order PJC/1243/2026, of August 10, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 163, of August 24, 2026, with reference BOA20260824023.
The order, signed by the Vice President and Councilor María del Mar Vaquero Perianez, grants nine grants and dismisses the remaining applications due to insufficient credit. The total amount amounts to 60,000 euros, charged to budget item G/18060/4581/470021/91002 of the budget of the Autonomous Community of Aragon.
Regulatory Framework and Processing
The grants were called via Order ECD/1913/2025, of December 19, based on the regulatory bases for culture grants approved by Order ECD/1248/2022, of September 6. The application period took place between January 21 and February 4, 2026, and a total of sixteen applications were received.
The Evaluation Commission assessed the projects on April 14, 2026, and the General Directorate of Culture and Cultural Heritage, as the instructing body, formulated the provisional and final proposals. Following the acceptance of the grants and the withdrawal of one company, a second final resolution proposal was issued on June 24, 2026.
Beneficiaries and Amounts
Four grants are awarded under modality A and five under modality B, with a reserve of 20,000 euros for the former and 40,000 euros for the latter. Among the beneficiaries are:
- Cosmos Fan Comunicación, SL, with 8,500 euros for the project “Mumú”.
- Estación Cinema Documakingtales, SL.
- Joshua Escribano Cáncer.
- Alfredo Andreu Rios.
- María Isabel Lahuerta Bellido, with 4,000 euros for the project “Lo que la mentira alimenta”.
The company La Bendita Produce, SL withdrew its application for the project “Rey de las ratas”, whose initial credit of 9,300 euros was reassigned to the applicants corresponding by score.
Obligations and Deadlines
The grants are subject to the de minimis regime of Regulation (EU) 2023/2831, by which the aid to a single company may not exceed 300,000 euros over three fiscal years. The deadline for the justification of expenses, incurred between November 14, 2025, and November 13, 2026, ends on November 19, 2026.
Against the order, which ends the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the High Court of Justice of Aragon.
The resolution provides a direct boost to the Aragonese audiovisual industry by financing the creation of new short films, promoting the emergence of local professionals, and stimulating employment in the sector, within the framework of the department’s Strategic Grant Plan for the 2025-2027 period.
