Aragón distributes 169,230 euros to 74 local entities for youth projects

The Aragonese Youth Institute has resolved the call for grants to local entities of the Autonomous Community of Aragon for the development of service projects aimed at Aragonese youth during the 2026 fiscal year. The resolution, signed on August 11, 2026, by the Managing Director, Patricia Rodríguez Iglesias, grants aid for a total amount of €169,230.28 to 74 entities and denies another 58 applications. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon, number 164, of August 25, 2026 (reference BOA20260825012).

The call, identified under the designation JUV 2/2026, was opened through Order BSF/1758/2025, of December 1, published in BOA number 242, of December 16, 2025, and is governed by the regulatory bases of Order CDS/1427/2021, of October 21. Its purpose is to encourage youth to remain in their local environment through social and economic revitalization and structuring by financing youth projects. The initial credit was increased by €4,230.28 by Order of July 29, 2026, after a tie was found in the evaluation of four applications, authorized by the Councilor for Finance, Interior, and Public Administration on July 16, 2026.

Beneficiaries and amounts

The grants are awarded charged to the budget application G/3231/460041/91002 (PEP 2007/000092) and benefit city councils and regions (comarcas) of the three Aragonese provinces. Among the beneficiary entities are:

• Comarca de la Jacetania (SEL. 44), with €4,275.00 for the project “Jóvenes + Competentes”.
• Ayuntamiento de Pancrudo (SEL. 121), with €1,700.00 for “Fanzines desde el territorio”.
• Comarca Ribera Baja del Ebro (SEL. 86), with €3,825.00 for “Diferénciate y destaca”.
• Comarca de Cuencas Mineras (SEL. 16), with €3,500.00 for “Bibliotecas Humanas”.
• Ayuntamiento de Calamocha (SEL. 98), with €3,300.00 for the 5th edition of “Teatro joven encontrarte”.
• Comarca del Cinca Medio (SEL. 25), with €3,150.00 for youth revitalization.
• Comarca de Andorra-Sierra de Arcos (SEL. 1), with €2,850.00 for youth revitalization.

Requirements and evaluation criteria

Projects must be executed within the territory of the requesting entity, be aimed at young people between 14 and 30 years old, and be carried out between January 1 and December 31, 2026. Eligible activities cover typologies such as culture, promotion of youth emancipation in rural areas, maintenance of endangered services and trades, youth revitalization and information, innovation and technology, awareness campaigns, development of youth plans, and other projects of general interest.

The assessment is based on a maximum of 100 points, with special weight given to the educational project (up to 50 points) and the requesting entity (up to 25). Only projects that obtain a minimum of 25 points in the educational section and 60 points in total are subsidized. The impact on rural areas is scored by population brackets, such that municipalities of up to 500 inhabitants receive the maximum score.

Denials and Inadmissibility

The resolution denies aid to 58 local entities for various reasons:

• One application (file SEL. 35) for including non-subsidizable expenses.
• One application (SEL. 12) for not being up to date with tax obligations to the Aragonese Treasury.
• 28 applications for not reaching the minimum required score.
• 28 applications, with scores between 60 and 67, due to the exhaustion of the available budget credit.

Additionally, files SEL. 26 and SEL. 55, submitted by non-profit entities that do not hold the status of a beneficiary entity according to Law 7/1999 on Local Administration of Aragon, are declared inadmissible for processing.

Deadlines and Justification

Beneficiary entities will be understood to accept the subsidy unless expressly stated otherwise within ten business days from publication. The justification of the amounts received must be submitted between September 1 and October 15, 2026, with a second justification period from January 1 to February 22, 2027, for expenses incurred in the final months of the year. Non-compliance will result in the loss of the granted subsidy.

The resolution concludes the administrative process; an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month, or it may be challenged before the contentious-administrative jurisdiction within two months. With this call, the Government of Aragon reinforces support for city councils and regions as key agents for retaining the young population in the territory, especially in rural areas, one of the community’s central demographic challenges.
