Aragón renews the Telecommunications and Informatics Advisory Council

The Government of Aragon has dismissed and appointed the members of the Telecommunications and Informatics Advisory Council of the Aragonese Public Entity for Telematic Services (AST) for a four-year term, through Decree 158/2026, of September 2, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 173, of September 7, 2026 (reference BOA20260907006). The decision, adopted upon the proposal of the Councilor for Finance, Interior and Public Administration, responds to changes in the organic structure of the regional Administration.

The body, which is consultative and advisory in nature, is regulated by Law 7/2001, of May 31, creating the AST, and by Decree 18/2019, of January 30, which approves its statutes. Following the Decree of May 3, 2026, by the President of the Government of Aragon, which reassigns departmental competencies, the entity is attached to the Department of Finance, Interior and Public Administration, whose head presides over the Council. The decree expresses gratitude for the services provided by the outgoing members and takes effect on the day of its publication.

Composition and presidency

Article 21 of Decree 18/2019 establishes the composition of the Council, which includes the presidency and vice-presidencies of the AST Steering Council, the technical general secretary of the attached department, the managing director, one member per department, and representatives from the General State Administration, the University of Zaragoza, local entities, and business associations. The presidency corresponds to the Councilor for Finance, Interior and Public Administration, with the possibility of delegation to the vice-presidents of the Steering Council.

The renewal of the Council ensures the continuity of advisory services regarding corporate information systems, services, and telecommunications, at a time when the AST acts as the main provider for the Aragonese Administration. The decree, signed by the President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón Navarro, and the Minister of Finance, Interior and Public Administration, Roberto Bermúdez de Castro Mur, consolidates the regional digital governance following the departmental reorganization.
