Aragón sets the distribution of 100,000 euros for scientific outreach

The Director General for Science and Research, María Pilar Gayán Sanz, has agreed, by resolution dated July 21, 2026, the final distribution of the 100,000 euros earmarked to subsidize events and activities that promote, popularize, and disseminate science, research, and technological development in Aragon during the year 2026. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 170, dated September 2, 2026, with reference BOA20260902015.

The call was structured through Order EMC/325/2026, of February 12, which set a maximum global amount of 100,000 euros charged to three budget items from the expenditure budget of the Autonomous Community, extended for the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years. The regulatory bases were approved by Order EMC/1428/2024, of November 19, regarding science, research, and knowledge transfer.

Reallocation of budget items

The initial accounting document of the call distributed 70,000 euros to item 15100G/5423/440030/91002 and 30,000 euros to 15100G/5423/480072/91002, leaving item 15100G/5423/470105/91002 at zero because the budget was extended. However, the evaluation of the applications and the report from the Technical Valuation Commission, together with the provisional resolution proposal of May 13, 2026, showed that this initial distribution did not correspond to the legal nature of the beneficiary centers.

To adjust the distribution to the reality of the applications, a budget modification was carried out to provide credit to item 15100G/5423/470105/91002, authorized by the Minister of Finance, Interior, and Public Administration on July 7, 2026. The final distribution is as follows:

• 15100G/5423/440030/91002: 75,639.82 euros.
• 15100G/5423/480072/91002: 13,160.00 euros.
• 15100G/5423/470105/91002: 11,200.18 euros.

Inclusion of beneficiary companies

The reallocation is due to the fact that the regulatory bases approved in November 2024 already contemplated the possibility of companies from the Autonomous Community being beneficiaries, a detail that the initial distribution did not reflect. The sixth section of the call order provides that the distribution of the amount is estimated and may be altered in accordance with Article 58, paragraphs 4 and 5, of Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, which approves the Regulation of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17.

The resolution also approves the complementary accounting documents CONTA 2026 A-1150000523, CONTA 2026 A+1150000522, and CONTA 2026 A 1150000525, corresponding to the adjustments for the final distribution of credits.

Impact of the measure

The publication of this resolution does not open a period for submitting new applications nor does it start a new countdown for resolution, as expressly indicated in the text. The measure ensures that the 100,000 euros are distributed according to the actual legal nature of the beneficiaries, allowing Aragonese companies in the sector to access the grants intended to bring science and technology closer to the citizenry, alongside research centers and universities.
