Aragon creates the position of deputy director for its Brussels Office.

The Government of Aragon has created the temporary staff position of Deputy Director of the Government of Aragon Office in Brussels, with supplementary remuneration of €65,381.76 per year. The decision is formalized in Order HAP/1186/2026, of July 31, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 157, of August 14, 2026, with reference BOA20260814001.
The modification of the Staffing List of the Department of the Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport was requested by its Technical General Secretariat and is based on the Agreement of the Government of Aragon of July 22, 2026, which set the supplementary remuneration for the new position. The Directorate General for Budgets issued the mandatory report with the economic study of the proposal, processed as File number 56/2026. The Executive justifies the measure by the need for specialized advice on European Union affairs.
The order is issued in accordance with the procedure of Decree 68/2021, of May 19, which regulates the Staffing Lists of the Administration of the Autonomous Community of Aragon and its Public Bodies, and under the authority conferred by Decree 127/2026, of July 22, which establishes the organizational structure of the Department of Finance, Interior and Public Administration. The text is signed in Zaragoza on July 31, 2026, by the Councillor Roberto Bermúdez de Castro Mur.
A position of trust with a European projection
The new position is included in the staffing list of temporary staff, with free appointment and tied to political trust. Its mission will be to support the Office’s management and advise the competent Councillor on matters of the European Union, thereby consolidating Aragon’s representation before the European institutions.

Entry into force
In accordance with its operative provisions, Order HAP/1186/2026 will take effect from the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of Aragon, that is, from August 15, 2026. The creation of the post entails the corresponding allocation in the budgetary staff annexes, subject to a prior report from the Directorate General for Budgets.
The creation of this position, political in profile and with supplementary remuneration well above the average for civil servants, underscores the Aragonese Government’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Brussels. The deputy director will become a key figure for monitoring the European agenda affecting Aragon, from the common agricultural policy and territorial cohesion to attracting EU funds.
