Aragón announces 19 million in grants for agri-food industries in 2027

The Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Food of the Government of Aragon has published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 165, dated August 26, 2026, the Order AGA/1256/2026, dated August 5, which announces grants for investments in the transformation, marketing, and development of agricultural products (agrifood industries) for the year 2027. The call, framed within the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy 2023-2027 (PEPAC 2023-2027), has a maximum estimated allocation of 18,985,427.08 euros.

Regulatory framework and objective
The call develops intervention 6842.2, “Aid for investments in the transformation, marketing, and/or development of agrifood products,” included in the PEPAC 2023-2027, approved by the European Commission through Implementing Decision C(2022) 6017, dated August 31, 2022. It is based on the regulatory bases approved by Order AGA/293/2024, dated March 22, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 65, dated April 3, 2024.
The purpose is to increase the use of raw materials in production processes and improve their transformation and marketing, favoring the added value of agricultural and food products, the sustainability of the rural environment, and job creation. The procedure is processed under an ordinary competitive bidding regime, based on the principles of publicity, objectivity, transparency, equality, and non-discrimination.
Beneficiaries and amounts
Beneficiaries may be natural persons, legal entities, or their groupings who hold agrifood industries located in the territory of Aragon and are ultimately responsible for the financing of the investments. The applicable aid percentages are:
- 10% of the investment for all projects that meet the eligibility requirements and minimum score.
- An additional 10% for projects promoted by an SME.
- An additional 5% for small enterprises whose project significantly increases production capacity, turnover, or employment.
- An additional 20% for cooperatives that present projects promoted by or benefiting at least two cooperatives.
In all cases, the maximum amount of the grant will not exceed 40% of the eligible investments, and the limit per fully operational project will be 1,000,000 euros. For investments in agricultural biomass or alternative energies, the limit of 300,000 euros in de minimis aid over three years applies.
Financing and deadline
Funding will be provided at 43% charged to the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and 57% charged to the Autonomous Community and the General State Administration, distributed over a maximum of three annual installments. The application period will begin the day following the publication of the order and will end on November 27, 2026.
Processing will be carried out by electronic means through the electronic headquarters of the Public Administration of Aragon, under procedure number 11795, signed by the Counselor of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food, Aránzazu Simón Pérez.
