Aragón allocates 320,000 euros for school teams of sports federations

The Government of Aragon has announced grants for a maximum amount of 320,000 euros destined for Aragonese sports federations for the preparation and participation of regional teams in the School-Age Spanish Championships convened by the Higher Sports Council. The call is formalized through Order PJC/1353/2026, of September 4, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 183, of September 21, 2026 (reference BOA20260921011), whose extract appears in the same issue with reference BOA20260921014 and identifier BDNS 911516.

The regulation is signed by the Vice President and Councilor for Presidency, Justice, Culture, and Sport, María del Mar Vaquero Perianez, and is issued under the regulatory bases approved by Order ECD/978/2025, of August 1, modified by Order ECD/1674/2025 and by Order ECD/516/2026. The subsidy is framed within line 6.4 of the department’s Strategic Subsidy Plan for the 2025-2027 period and its declared purpose is the promotion of school sports through competition activities.

Amount and budget distribution

The grants are awarded charged to application 18080/4571/480112/91002 of the 2024 budget extended to 2026, for a maximum of 320,000 euros, and may finance up to 100% of the cost of the approved eligible budget.

• 10,000 euros for the preparation of the teams.
• 310,000 euros for participation expenses in the championships.
• Preparation: equal amount for each participating athlete and technician, with a maximum of 27 euros, adjusted by days (up to two days, 50%; more than two, 100%).
• Participation: fixed amount per member of the expedition multiplied by the days of travel and competition, with a maximum of 120 euros per day per member.
• Remuneration for the technical staff of the expedition: limit of 200 euros per competition day.

Who can apply

Beneficiaries may be sports federations registered in the Registry of Sports Entities of Aragon that participate in the School-Age Spanish Championships. In modalities without an Aragonese federation, Spanish federations with a delegation in the autonomous community may also apply.

Among the required requirements are:

• That the championship has been convened by the Higher Sports Council.
• That athletes and coaches hold a valid school sports license.
• To be up to date with tax obligations and Social Security and to have no debts with the Aragonese Treasury.
• To comply with transparency obligations and not incur the prohibitions of article 13.2 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies.

Deadlines, processing, and covered expenses

The application period is ten business days from the day following the publication of the summary, and the process is electronic via procedure number 11506 of the electronic office of the Government of Aragon. Two independent competitive procedures will be processed, one for preparation and another for participation, and the instruction corresponds to the General Directorate of Sport.

Activities carried out between December 1, 2025, and November 30, 2026, and paid before December 2, 2026, will be eligible for subsidies. Admissible expenses include travel, accommodation, and meals for athletes, technical staff, medical staff, and expedition leaders; specific sports equipment; physiotherapy services; non-inventoriable sports materials; and the rental of facilities for training. Expenses for management personnel are excluded.

The evaluation will be carried out by a commission chaired by the head of the Federated Sport and Competition Service. The maximum period for resolution is three months from the end of the application period, and the justification must be submitted before December 2, 2026. An appeal for reversal may be filed against the order within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.

The call guarantees public funding for federations that support competitive school sports in Aragon, from the preparation of national teams to the travel of expeditions to state championships, with a distribution that prioritizes the number of participants and days of competition.
