Aragón grants the 2026 Agri-Food Awards to six winners

The Government of Aragon has granted the 2026 Aragon Agri-Food Awards in six categories through Order AGA/1311/2026, dated September 4, signed by the Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock, and Food, Aránzazu Simón Pérez. The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon (Boletín Oficial de Aragón) number 176, dated September 10, 2026, with reference BOA20260910014.

The awards were created through Order AGA/666/2025, dated June 5, published in BOA number 116, dated June 19, 2025, with the aim of recognizing the excellence and commitment of individuals and entities within the Aragonese agri-food sector. The jury, meeting on August 27, 2026, at the headquarters of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food, chose the most suitable candidate in each category based on the proposal submitted by the General Directorate of Innovation and Food Promotion.

Six categories, six winners

The order distinguishes one winner for each of the six planned categories:

Orchard Fruit, award for entrepreneurship and innovation in product, design, or packaging, for its differentiation strategy in the fresh fruit market.
Con Mucho Gusto, the gastronomy and agri-food supplement of Heraldo de Aragón, award for content creation and sector dissemination.
Gastronomic Innovation Center of Aragon (CIGA), award for Aragonese agri-food research.
Tierra Mudéjar, award for the best artisanal food company, for its activity linked to the breeding and processing of duck in the rural environment of Teruel.
Association of Singular Legume Producers of Aragon, award for ecological or sustainability initiatives.
Farmers and livestock breeders of Aragon in the fight against fires, special agri-food sector award.

A symbolic recognition without financial endowment

The awards consist of an accrediting distinction, without financial endowment. The awarded individuals and entities may use the term “Aragon Agri-Food Award (category) 2026” in their corporate image and promotional activities, in accordance with the provisions of Order AGA/666/2025.

The order also expresses gratitude for the work and collaboration of the jury responsible for evaluating the candidacies, and stipulates that the verdict be published in the Official Gazette of Aragon in accordance with the seventh section of the creation regulation.

The special award recognizes the solidarity of the countryside

The special award distinguishes the farmers and livestock breeders who collaborated in extinguishing the fires recorded in various points of Aragon. With tractors, tanks, and agricultural machinery, they supported emergency teams in plowing land, creating protection strips, supplying water, opening access points, and defending crops, farms, and population centers.

With this award, the Government of Aragon expresses its gratitude to those who, beyond their professional obligations, placed their resources, effort, and knowledge at the service of the community during especially difficult times for many Aragonese towns.

Relevance for the sector

With these recognitions, the regional Executive seeks to raise the perception of the quality of the region’s agri-food products in national and international markets, and to incentivize innovation, sustainability, and the development of the rural environment. The resolution, which concludes the administrative process, allows for an optional appeal for reversal within one month and a contentious-administrative appeal within two months from its publication.
