Aragón grants 2.2 million for adapted social transport for rural regions

The Aragonese Institute of Social Services (IASS) has resolved the granting of subsidies for the ISEAL program in its adapted social transport line for the 2026 financial year, for a total amount of 2,200,000.00 euros. The resolution, dated September 8, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 186, dated September 24, 2026, with reference BOA20260924014. The grants are awarded to 25 regions and axes of the Central Region and are 40% co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.

The call was structured through Order DBF/867/2026, dated May 29, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 114, dated June 17, 2026, within the framework of the ESF+ Aragon 2021-2027 Program, Investment Objective for employment and growth. All participating entities submitted their applications within the established deadline and their documentation complied with the requirements of the order.

The Evaluation Commission was constituted and met on July 28, 2026, and issued a report to the instructing body; on that basis, the proposed resolution of July 31, 2026, was submitted, which became final and was published on the IASS website. The authority to resolve, by delegation of the Counselor for Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family, corresponds to the Management Directorate of the IASS, which has verified the existence of credit in applications 53010 G/3132/460053/11202 and 53010 G/3132/460053/91001.

Requirements and purpose of the grants

The beneficiary entities comply with the first, second, and third bases of the call for applications, by presenting adapted social transport projects that allow, in 2026, with a locally-owned accessible vehicle and local employment, access for people with disabilities and/or in a situation of dependency to existing social resources, as well as their social integration. The stated objective is to contribute to the improvement of quality of life and social equity in rural areas.

The grant must be used to cover the cost of the project; the amount not covered by the grant shall be covered, where applicable, by contributions from users, the beneficiary local entity’s own funds, or other grants.

Publication and means of appeal

The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon and serves as notification to the interested parties in accordance with Article 45 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, and also on the IASS website. Against this resolution, which exhausts administrative remedies, the following may be filed:

• Prior claim before the Vice President and Councilor for Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family, within a period of two months.
• Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Aragon, within a period of two months.

In both cases, the period is counted from the day following the publication in the bulletin. The document appears signed in Zaragoza on September 8, 2026, by the Managing Director of the IASS, P.V. the Technical General Secretary, Manuel Díaz Muíña.

These grants support accessible transport services in regions with an aging and dispersed population, where mobility conditions access to health centers, social services, and integration activities. The 40% European co-financing further links the program to ESF+ funds and social equity in the Aragonese rural environment.
