Aragón concede 12.175 euros a cinco asociaciones de estudiantes universitarios

The General Directorate of Universities of the Department of Education, Science and Universities of the Government of Aragon has resolved the call for grants intended for non-profit student associations in the university sphere for the year 2026. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 202, dated October 19, 2026, within section III of other provisions and agreements, with the official reference BOA20261019024. Of the nine applications submitted, five entities receive aid and four are dismissed due to lack of credit.

Regulatory framework and budget allocation

The call derives from Order ECU/795/2026, of May 18, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 104, dated June 3, 2026, which in turn is based on the regulatory bases approved by Order EMC/1109/2025, of August 26 (Official Gazette of Aragon number 172, dated September 5, 2025).

The sixth section of the call established a maximum total amount of 15,000 euros and an individual limit of 3,000 euros per beneficiary entity. The declared purpose of the grants is to boost the development of science and culture, improve academic excellence, encourage the use of knowledge as an instrument for social progress, and reinforce democratic and constitutional values, in addition to promoting human rights, solidarity, sustainable development, and peace.

According to the background of the resolution, nine applications were submitted and, after the correction phase and the instructional actions of the Universities Service, it was verified that all entities met the requirements and had provided the required documentation. The Evaluation Commission issued its report on September 16, 2026.

The five beneficiary entities

The resolution grants subsidies to the five highest-rated entities, with the following distribution:

  • CODELAB Association: 175 euros (95 points), for an annual cycle of talks, hackathons, and educational robotics (WRO).
  • IAESTE exchange Association: 3,000 euros (90 points), for the 2026 Ordinary General Assembly.
  • Free Women Association. MANUELA BLASCO: 3,000 euros (80 points), for training and dissemination for a University in equality.
  • ACMUNDI student association: 3,000 euros (70 points), for the MEU ARAGON 2026 European Union Model, third edition.
  • INTEGRA youth association. Youth volunteering: 3,000 euros (65 points), for the project “The importance of participating”.

The total amount granted amounts to 12,175 euros, charged to the budget application 15110/G/4228/480070/91002 of the budget of the Autonomous Community of Aragon for the 2026 financial year.

Four dismissed applications

The resolution dismisses the requests of four associations due to insufficient budget credit, once the competitive bidding regime and the order of priority have been applied:

  • Asociación Juvenil movimiento por los derechos del alumnado. MOVIDA (62 points).
  • Asociación MAGENTA colectivo LGTB de Aragón (62 points).
  • Asociación Cultural universitaria comisión de cultura EINA (55 points).
  • Asociación Juvenil del Colectivo Saharaui LEFRIG (45 points).

The text explains that, after allocating the amounts, the remaining credit is 2,825 euros, an amount insufficient to fully meet any of the following requests. The call for applications does not provide for the exceptional pro-rating provided for in article 7.2 of the regulatory bases; therefore, this remainder cannot be allocated to partial grants nor alter the order of priority. The tie between MOVIDA and MAGENTA was resolved in accordance with section seven, point 5, of the call.

Justification and appeal process

Payment is conditional upon the correct justification of the subsidized activity under the terms of the call. The beneficiaries must comply with the obligations of article 14 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, article 9 of the consolidated text of the Aragon Subsidies Law, and article 18 of Order EMC/1109/2025, and provide the Directorate General for Universities, within fifteen days, with the information necessary for the transparency obligations of Law 8/2015, of March 25.

Against the resolution, which does not exhaust the administrative route, an administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed before the Minister of Education, Science, and Universities within one month from the day following its publication. The document was signed in Zaragoza on October 2, 2026, by the Director General for Universities, María Luisa Feijóo Bello.

The resolution excludes nearly half of the university associative fabric that applied: four projects that did pass the technical evaluation are left without funding due to a distribution that barely covers 81% of the planned allocation. For Aragonese student associations, the result confirms that access to these funds depends as much on the score as on the strict order of priority and the credit available for the fiscal year.
