Aragón dismisses the managing director of the Aragonese Institute of Social Services

The Government of Aragon has arranged for the termination, at her own request, of Marta Isabel Tejero López as managing director of the Aragonese Institute of Social Services (IASS). The decision is formalized through Decree 148/2026, of September 2, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 171, of September 3, 2026, and takes effect from the day of its publication.

The measure is adopted upon the proposal of the counselor of Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family, and is supported by articles 10.6 and 12.32 of the revised text of the Law of the President and the Government of Aragon, approved by Legislative Decree 1/2022, of April 6, as well as article 15.3 of Law 4/1996, of May 22, regarding the Aragonese Institute of Social Services.

Regulatory framework and issuing body

The termination is listed in section II (Authorities and Personnel) of the gazette, within the section for appointments, situations and incidents, under the heading of the Vice Presidency of the Government and Department of Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family. The decree expressly thanks the outgoing director for the services rendered.

The resolution is signed by the president of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón Navarro, and by the vice president and counselor of Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family, Alejandro Nolasco Asensio, both in Zaragoza on September 2, 2026.

Effects and scope of the termination

The termination occurs at her own request and takes effect from the day of its publication in the Official Gazette of Aragon, that is, September 3, 2026. Consequently, the managing director position of the IASS remains vacant pending the appointment of a successor.

The Aragonese Institute of Social Services is the public body responsible for the management of social services and dependency care in the autonomous community, therefore the change in its managing director directly affects the regional social policy and the thousands of users who depend on its benefits.
