Aragón nearly doubles the credit for self-employment grants

The Government of Aragon has increased by 1.625 million euros the credit allocated to subsidies for the program for the promotion and consolidation of self-employment, which rises from 1.8 to 3.425 million euros. The measure, adopted through Order ECE/1259/2026, of August 13, is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 167, of August 28, 2026, in section III of Other Provisions and Agreements.
The expansion is a response to the fact that the initially planned credit was insufficient to meet all the applications submitted by individuals who, meeting the requirements, could be potential beneficiaries of the grants called for the year 2026.
A program for self-employment and entrepreneurship
The order expands the funding of the call approved by Order EMC/1877/2025, of December 15, which calls for the 2026 subsidies regulated in Order EMC/1253/2025, of September 12, which establishes the regulatory bases of the program, as amended by Order EMC/1491/2025, of October 27.
The purpose of the program is to support self-employment and entrepreneurship in the Autonomous Community of Aragon, encouraging unemployed persons to establish themselves as self-employed workers, favoring the maintenance and consolidation of their economic activity, and promoting generational renewal and the labor insertion of collaborating family members.
New distribution of credit
The total credit, which is financed from the 2026 expenditure budget of the Aragonese Employment Institute, is distributed as follows:
- 840,000 euros in budget application G/51016/3221/470039/11202.
- 1,260,000 euros in budget application G/51016/3221/470039/91001.
- 1,325,000 euros in budget application G/51016/3221/470039/33005.
The expansion is based on the incorporation of new credits into the budget of the Aragonese Employment Institute, derived from the distribution of labor funds from the General State Budgets for 2026, approved via Certificate of June 4, 2026, from the LXXXVII Meeting of the Sectoral Conference on Employment and Labor Affairs, held on May 27, 2026. The processing included a favorable report from the Delegated Comptroller, dated August 6, 2026.
Processing and appeals
The modification is carried out without the need for a new call for applications, following the processing of the credit modification file and its publication in the Official Gazette of Aragon, in accordance with Article 42.2 of the consolidated text of the Subsidies Law of Aragon, approved by Legislative Decree 2/2023, of May 3, of the Government of Aragon. The order, which exhausts the administrative route, was signed in Zaragoza on August 13, 2026, by María del Mar Vaquero Perianez, Vice President and Councilor for Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport, substituting for the Councilor for Economy, Competitiveness and Employment.
An optional appeal for reversal may be filed against the order before the Councilor for Economy, Competitiveness and Employment within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Aragon within two months of its publication.
The expansion nearly doubles the available budget for a key program in the reactivation of the Aragonese productive fabric, ensuring that the self-employed and entrepreneurs who applied for aid in 2026 can receive it despite the high demand recorded.
