Aragón extends the deadlines for the Ordesa Park grants
Por FactBox Admin

The Department of Environment and Tourism of the Government of Aragon has extended the execution and justification deadlines for the grants called for in the socioeconomic influence area of the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park for the 2026 fiscal year. The decision is formalized in Order MAT/1439/2026, of September 25, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 196, of October 8, 2026, with reference BOA20261008018. The delay in the processing of the original call necessitates a readjustment of the planned calendar for the aid.
The origin of the delay
The regulation modifies Order MAT/1003/2026, of June 10, by which public grants were called for in the socioeconomic influence area of the park, in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 1229/2005, of October 13, for the year 2026.
As stated in the text itself, the call accumulated delays in its processing and was not finally published in the Official Gazette of Aragon until July 9, 2026. This lag pushes the deadline for resolving applications to November 10, 2026, a date that exceeded the deadlines set for executing and justifying the subsidized actions.
The department argues that it is not possible to significantly shorten the resolution period for the applications and that, therefore, it is advisable to adjust the execution and justification deadlines for the aid accordingly.
The new deadlines
The order introduces two specific changes to the original call:
- Execution of actions: the period begins on January 1, 2026, and ends on November 15, 2026, instead of the initially planned September 30.
- Justification prior to the payment of aid: the deadline changes from October 15 to November 30, 2026.
Both modifications affect point 6 of the seventeenth section and the eighteenth section of Order MAT/1003/2026.
Legal framework and appeals
The resolution is adopted under Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and the consolidated text of the Subsidies Law of Aragon, approved by Legislative Decree 2/2023, of May 3, of the Government of Aragon. The Minister of Environment and Tourism, Luis Francisco Biendicho Gracia, signed the order in Zaragoza on September 25, 2026, by virtue of the powers conferred by the Decree of May 3, 2026, of the President of the Government of Aragon, regarding the organization of the regional Administration.
Against the order, which exhausts administrative remedies, the following may be filed:
- Optional appeal for reversal (recurso potestativo de reposición) before the Minister of Environment and Tourism, within one month from the day following its publication.
- Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Aragon, within two months from the day following its publication.
Impact for beneficiaries
The grants are aimed at the socioeconomic area of influence of the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, in the province of Huesca, with the objective of compensating and revitalizing the surroundings of a protected area whose municipalities depend largely on nature tourism.
The extension provides beneficiaries with room to complete their actions and submit the supporting documentation, although the calendar remains tight: barely a few weeks separate the close of execution, November 15, from the justification deadline, November 30. The readjustment prevents applicants from being caught between a resolution that may arrive in November and execution deadlines that have already expired.
