Por FactBox Admin

The Local Governing Board of the Calonge i Sant Antoni City Council, meeting in an ordinary session on August 13, 2026, has definitively approved the Construction Project for the new pedestrian and bicycle footbridge at the GI-667 bridge. The agreement, which concludes the administrative process, is made public via an edict in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona (no. 167, edict 7543, of August 31, 2026, CVE BOP-2026_0_167_7543).

A project for sustainable mobility

The project, drafted by the Public Works technical engineer Marc Cucurella i Vila and presented on April 27, 2026 (ENTRA 2026_9463), aims to improve the sustainable mobility of pedestrians and cyclists in the vicinity of the GI-667 bridge. The contract budget amounts to 185,136.61 euros (VAT included), and the processed file is 2026/5251.

The work is part of the municipal desire to reinforce non-motorized itineraries and guarantee the safety of travel on foot and by bicycle at a point in the local road network.

Publication and regulatory framework

The agreement is published, in accordance with Article 38 of Decree 179/1995, of June 13, which approves the Regulations for works, activities, and services of local entities, through three official channels:

  • The Official Gazette of the Province of Girona
  • The Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya
  • The City Council’s electronic edicts board

Appeal periods

Against the definitive approval, which exhausts the administrative route, interested parties may file the following appeals, starting from the day after the last publication of the edict:

  • Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Girona, within a period of two months
  • Optional appeal for reversal before the same body that issued the act, within a period of one month

The edict, signed by Mayor Jordi Soler i Casals on August 20, 2026, closes the administrative procedure and opens the way for the bidding and execution of the work.

Impact for the municipality

The new footbridge represents a step forward in safe connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists in Calonge i Sant Antoni, in line with sustainable mobility policies and the reduction of dependence on private vehicles. Once the appeal periods have expired, the project can move forward toward its bidding and construction, with a direct impact on the quality of life of the residents and road safety in the area.
