The payment-upon-receipt modality, together with the lump-sum proposal without readjustment, implies that the awardee will receive payment once the work is received and that the offered amount will not be readjusted during the 540 calendar days of execution, a relevant point for the financial calculation of interested companies.
Impact for the commune
The construction of a long-term care facility in Taltal responds to a demand for healthcare equipment in a coastal commune of the Antofagasta Region, distant from the region’s main urban centers. With a budget exceeding $5.817 billion and an execution period of more than a year and a half, the work represents a significant investment in the hiring of local labor and in chains of materials and services for the area.
For readers linked to the construction sector, the immediate milestone is the site visit on November 2, 2026, and the closing of inquiries on November 13, 2026; for the community, the tender marks the formal start of a social equipment project whose award schedule extends until March 2027.
