Andalusia authorizes new undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees for 2026/2027

The Governing Council of the Regional Government of Andalusia has authorized the implementation and suppression of official university degrees, Master’s, and Doctoral programs for the 2026/2027 academic year in Andalusian universities. The agreement, adopted at the meeting on August 31, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Regional Government of Andalusia (BOJA) number 172, dated September 4, 2026, on page 11494.

The decision, promoted by the Ministry of University, Industry, Energy, and Innovation, was signed by the President of the Regional Government, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, and the Minister Jorge Paradela Gutiérrez. The agreement includes a single annex listing, for each university, the degrees being implemented and those being suppressed or phased out.

Regulatory Framework

The authority to authorize these programs is based on Article 53 of the Statute of Autonomy for Andalusia and Article 14 of the University Law 1/2026, of February 20, for Andalusia. The procedure complies with Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System, Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28, and, for doctoral programs, Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28.

The authorization is part of the University Programming of the Regional Government of Andalusia 2025-2028, approved by Order of May 7, 2024, and revised by Order of September 22, 2025. Furthermore, the agreement responds to the measure “Detect future needs and demands for professionals” of the Social and Economic Pact for the Impetus of Andalusia, signed on March 13, 2023.

New Authorized Programs

Among the newly approved degrees, the following stand out, by university:

• University of Almería: Degree in Speech Therapy (with the University of Seville) and Master’s in Institutional Intelligence: Data Management and Governance.
• University of Cádiz: Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and PhD in Marketing and Market Research.
• University of Córdoba: Degree in Social Work and master’s degrees in Management and Governance of Public Administrations, Executive Management of Tourist Accommodations, Civil Engineering (Roads, Canals and Ports), and Music.
• CEU Fernando III University: degrees in Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, and Dentistry, among others.
• University of Granada: Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence for Health Sciences, Plasmas and Fusion, or Foreign Trade.
• University of Málaga: Degree in Market Intelligence and Analytics and master’s degrees in Biotechnology and Plant Biology or Language Learning through Intelligent Technologies.
• Pablo de Olavide University: Degree in Finance, Accounting and Auditing and master’s degrees in Computer Engineering and Marketing and Fashion Brand Management.
• University of Seville: master’s degrees in Advanced Statistics and Data Science and in Nuclear Physics (Erasmus Mundus).

Suppressed Programs

The agreement also authorizes the suppression of degrees, which the universities must phase out while guaranteeing the proper effective development of the teachings. Among them are the Master’s in Agroecology (Córdoba, International of Andalusia, and Pablo de Olavide), the Degree in Finance and Accounting at Pablo de Olavide University, the Master’s in Nuclear Physics at the University of Seville, or the Master’s in Connected Industry at the University of Jaén. The suppression is understood without prejudice to the universities’ ability to promote a new verification proposal in the next academic year.

Publication and Effects

The complete offer of authorized teachings for 2026/2027 will be available in the degree catalog of the Junta de Andalucía portal. The agreement will be communicated to the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities for its registration in the Registry of Universities, Centers and Degrees (RUCT) and to the Agency for Scientific and University Quality of Andalusia, and will take effect from the day following its publication.

The decision is key for students and families, as it defines the public and private educational offer for the next academic year and directs training toward the demands of professionals within the Andalusian productive fabric.
