The National Public Registry of Water Rights and Service Providers of the National Water Authority (ANA) has registered the modification of the concession title for the use of groundwater from Well #4 Finca Chinampa in favor of Corporación Montelimar, S.A., with new extraction coordinates and a maximum annual volume of 573,619.39 m³. The certification is published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette No. 184 on Thursday, October 8, 2026, under reference RPNDAPS-LITC-MTC-0107-2026 (Reg. 2026-00969).
The ANA is the institution created by Law No. 620, “General Law of National Waters,” published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette No. 169 on September 4, 2007, amended by Law No. 1046, “Reform Law to Law No. 620,” published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette No. 217 on November 23, 2020. The Registry acts in accordance with Administrative Resolution No. 140-2019, “Appointment of the National Public Registrar of Water Rights,” issued on December 20, 2019.
The registration is carried out under Perpetual Number 0107, Folios 144 and 145, Volume VII, of the Concession Title Registration Book maintained by the Registry.
New coordinates and authorized volume
The registration act modifies the extraction point designated as “Well #4 Finca Chinampa.” The previous coordinates, UTM WGS84 558001 E – 1333616 N, are hereby replaced by the coordinates UTM WGS84 557992 E – 1333640 N.
The well is located within basin No. 68, named “Entre Río Brito y Río Tamarindo,” demarcated in the municipality of Villa El Carmen, department of Managua. The maximum authorized annual extraction volume is 573,619.39 m³ and the use corresponds to AGRICULTURAL/LIVESTOCK.
The process and its background
The modification is registered via Administrative Resolution No. RAE-ANA-DGRH-0144-2026, “Modification of concession title for the use of groundwater from one (01) well,” issued on August 27, 2026, and notified on September 23, 2026. The original title was granted under Administrative Resolution No. RAE-ANA-DGRH-061-2025, “Drilling permit and concession title for the use of groundwater from one (01) well in favor of Corporación Montelimar, S.A.,” issued on March 12, 2025.
That previous title was registered on April 28, 2025, in Entry 0101, Folios 132 and 133, Volume VI, of the same concessions book, with reference to the well’s coordinates in effect at that time.
The certification was signed in Managua at 2:17 p.m. on September 23, 2026, by Luis Fernando Yescas García, from the National Public Registry of Water Rights and Service Providers of the ANA. The Sixth Ruling of the resolution orders the publication of the certification in La Gaceta, Official Gazette within a maximum period of fifteen (15) calendar days.

- Company incorporated by public deed number 30, signed on July 29, 1993, before the notary offices of Juan José Icaza Martínez.
- Representation accredited by public deed number 7, signed on January 14, 2015, before the notary offices of Enrique José Moreira Jiménez.

Scope of the change
The modification does not alter the authorized use—agricultural—nor the number of conceded wells, which remains one (01). The change focuses on the location of the catchment point and the registry record of the maximum annual volume assigned.
The shift in coordinates is nine meters to the west and twenty-four meters to the north relative to the 2025 registration, within the same basin and municipality.
The publication in the Official Gazette closes the registration process and provides public notice of the act to third parties, in accordance with the procedure that the ANA applies to national water concession titles.
The modification directly concerns the communities and water users of basin No. 68 “Between Río Brito and Río Tamarindo”, in Villa El Carmen, because it establishes in the public registry the definitive location of the catchment point and the annual volume that Corporación Montelimar, S.A. may extract from the aquifer. The record registered under Perpetual Number 0107 allows residents, producers, and authorities to verify the scope of a groundwater utilization right in an agricultural use zone.
