ANA registers groundwater concession for Agro-Industrial Hanon in Tipitapa

The National Public Registry of Water Rights and Service Providers of the National Water Authority (ANA) registered the concession title for the use of groundwater from a well in favor of Agro-Industrial Hanon, S.A., in the municipality of Tipitapa, department of Managua. The registration certification was published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette No. 173 on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, page 9274, under reference RPNDAPS-LITC-ITC-0102-2026. The granted right has a validity of five years and a maximum annual utilization volume of 13,364.20 cubic meters.

The registration act is based on Administrative Resolution No. RAE-ANA-DGRH-0133-2026, “Concession title for the use of groundwater from one (01) well in favor of Agro-Industrial Hanon, Sociedad Anónima,” issued on August 21, 2026, and notified on September 1, 2026. The ANA is the institution created by the provisions of Law No. 620, “General Law of National Waters,” published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette No. 169 on September 4, 2007, and amended by Law No. 1046, “Reform Law to Law No. 620, General Law of National Waters,” published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette No. 217 on November 23, 2020.

The registration was recorded under Perpetual Number zero, one, zero, two (0102), Folios 137 and 138, Volume VII, of the Concession Title Registration Book maintained by the RPNDAPS. The process was carried out at the request of Mario José Hanon Thorn, in his capacity as General Proxy of the commercial company, through a written request submitted on September 8, 2026.

The well and the authorized volume

The resolution orders the recording of the utilization at the point designated as “Drilled Well (PP),” with the following technical characteristics:

• Basin: No. 69, named “Río San Juan.”
• Location: municipality of Tipitapa, department of Managua.
• UTM WGS84 Coordinates: 598878 E – 1353491 N.
• Maximum annual utilization volume: 13,364.20 m³.
• Authorized use: human consumption attached to commercial and industrial activity.

Validity and registration process

The granted right has a validity of five (05) years from the moment of its notification, according to the First Resolve of the registered resolution. The certification was issued by Luis Fernando Yescas García, National Public Registrar of Water Rights and Service Providers, in the city of Managua, at four twenty-five in the afternoon on September 8, 2026, on a single-sided sheet of common paper.

The Seventh Resolve of Administrative Resolution No. RAE-ANA-DGRH-0133-2026 stipulates that the certification must be published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette, within a maximum period of fifteen (15) calendar days. The publication appears identified with the registration Reg. 2026-00879 – M. 446911, with a value of C$ 475.00.

Legal basis and context of the edition

The registrar’s action is further supported by Administrative Resolution No. 140-2019, “Appointment of the National Public Registrar of Water Rights,” issued on December 20, 2019. The concessionaire company, Agro-Industrial Hanon, S.A., was incorporated by Public Deed No. 5 signed on July 6, 1976, before the notary offices of lawyer Carlos Humberto Lovo Valladares.

The same edition of the official gazette, within the section of the National Water Authority, includes other registration certifications from the RPNDAPS: RPNDAPS-LITC-MTC-0103-2026, regarding the modification of the concession title of Colegio Preparatorio San Agustín, S.A., and RPNDAPS-LIPV-RPV-0023-2026, regarding the renewal of the discharge permit for the Empresa de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado Sanitario de la Urbanización Altos de Motastepe, S.A.
