Amurrio announces 10,000 euro grants for people with celiac disease

The Amurrio City Council has announced financial aid of 10,000 euros for people diagnosed with celiac disease or with gluten intolerance, sensitivity, or allergy, according to the extract of the Mayoral resolution of August 12, 2026 (Decree number 2026-184), published in the Official Gazette of the Historical Territory of Álava (BOTHA) number 100, of September 2, 2026.

The call, processed under a competitive bidding system, is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and its full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database with the identifier BDNS 926247.

Beneficiary Requirements

People with a medical diagnosis of celiac disease or gluten intolerance, sensitivity, or allergy who meet the residency and income conditions established in the guidelines may access the aid:

• Be registered as residents (empadronadas) in Amurrio for five years within the last ten, at least one of which must be continuous and immediately prior to the date of publication of the guidelines.
• In the case of children under five, the residency requirement applies to those who hold parental authority, guardianship, custody, or foster care.
• Be up to date with tax obligations to the Municipal Treasury, the Provincial Treasury (Hacienda Foral), and Social Security, and have no outstanding debts with the Municipal Treasury.
• Family unit income must not exceed 25,000.00 euros per year, with the family unit being that defined in article 98 of the Provincial Regulation 33/2013, of November 27, on Personal Income Tax.

Allocation and Amounts

The total allocation for the call amounts to 10,000.00 euros. Maximum individual amounts may be reduced by the necessary percentage so that all grants can be covered by the available budget appropriation after the evaluation and granting of applications.

The regulatory guidelines were definitively approved by agreement of the Plenary of the Amurrio City Council on May 28, 2026, and their full content was published in BOTHA number 77, of July 8, 2025.

Submission Deadline

Applications may be submitted from the day following the publication of the call in the BOTHA and up to 30 calendar days thereafter. The resolution is signed by the mayor, José Ramón Molinuevo Laña, in Amurrio, on August 25, 2026.

The call represents direct support for families in the municipality affected by celiac disease and other gluten-related conditions, for whom the cost of specialized nutrition represents an additional economic burden. With this line of subsidies, the Álava council reinforces its network of social aid aimed at groups with specific needs.
