Local Police inspector positions are expanded in five municipalities

The Department of Presidency, Justice and Sports published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 166, of September 2, 2026) an order dated August 27, 2026, which modifies the call for access via internal promotion and provision through mobility in the Galician Local Police bodies, executive scale, inspector category, subgroup A2. The modification expands the positions announced in the municipalities of Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Ferrol, Vilagarcía de Arousa, and Teo.

The order modifies the Order of August 11, 2026, which approved the general regulatory bases and announced the selective process for access via internal promotion (procedure code PR461F) and the provision process through mobility (procedure code PR461J), published in DOG no. 158, of August 21, 2026. The action is framed within Decree 115/2017, of November 17, which regulates the cooperation of the general Administration of the Autonomous Community of Galicia with the municipalities in the selection of members of the local police bodies.

Expansion of announced positions

The municipality of Santiago de Compostela reported on August 21, 2026, that, in addition to the two positions corresponding to the public employment offer (OPE) of the current year, there was a position of this category in the 2025 OPE that had not been announced and should be included in this call. After verifying the documentation, the department considered it appropriate to grant the request.

With the modification, the announced positions are as follows:

• Vigo: 3 internal promotion and 1 mobility.
• Santiago de Compostela: 3 internal promotion.
• Ferrol: 2 internal promotion.
• Vilagarcía de Arousa: 1 internal promotion.
• Teo: 1 mobility.

Deadlines and entry into force

The deadline for submitting applications will be twenty business days, counted from the day following the publication of this modification order in the Official State Gazette. The order will enter into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of Galicia.

The order was signed in Santiago de Compostela on August 27, 2026, by the Minister of Presidency, Justice and Sports, Diego Calvo Pouso, by virtue of the delegation conferred for this purpose by the interested municipalities.
