The Institute of Employment and Socioeconomic and Technological Development (IEDT) of the Provincial Council of Cádiz has extended the deadline for the resolution and notification of the awarding of training scholarships for the “Empleo Cerca” project, co-financed 85% by the European Union’s ESF+. The decision, adopted by a resolution of the Vice-Presidency of the IEDT signed on July 27, 2026, by Andrés Clavijo Ortiz, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz, number 162, dated August 24, 2026.
The grants are awarded on a competitive basis and are part of the Employment, Education, Training and Social Economy (ÉFESO Program) for the 2021-2027 programming period. The announcement is disseminated in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and its full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database.
New resolution deadlines
The extension decree sets different deadlines depending on the destination municipality of the scholarships:
- Municipalities of the province (except Cádiz): until November 5, 2026, inclusive.
- Municipality of Cádiz: until December 5, 2026, inclusive.
Affected municipalities
The extension affects dozens of towns in the province, including Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, Chiclana de la Frontera, Puerto Real, Algeciras (including its disadvantaged areas), La Línea de la Concepción, Los Barrios, San Roque, Tarifa, Jimena de la Frontera, Castellar de la Frontera, Barbate, Conil de la Frontera, Paterna de Rivera, Medina Sidonia, Vejer de la Frontera, Benalup-Casas Viejas, Alcalá de los Gazules, San José del Valle, Arcos de la Frontera, Bornos, El Bosque, Espera, Grazalema, El Gastor, Villamartín, Prado del Rey, Ubrique, Olvera, Algodonales, Alcalá del Valle, Puerto Serrano, Benaocaz, Chipiona, and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
Regulatory framework and financing

The “Empleo Cerca” project is co-financed 85% by the European Union’s ESF+ within the Employment, Education, Training and Social Economy (ÉFESO) program for the 2021-2027 period, and the grants are intended for training scholarships for job seekers.
The extension of the resolution and notification deadline provides more leeway for the IEDT to process the applications of thousands of job seekers in the province, ensuring that the granting of training scholarships for the “Empleo Cerca” project is completed within the 2021-2027 European programming period and funded by the ESF+.
