Deadline extended for the resolution of Empleo Cerca scholarships

Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Council of Cádiz, through the Institute for Employment and Socioeconomic and Technological Development (IEDT), has extended the deadline for the resolution and notification of training scholarships for the “Empleo Cerca” project until November 5, 2026. In the municipality of Cádiz city, the deadline is extended until December 5, 2026. The measure is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz number 163, dated August 25, 2026.

The announcement corresponds to the Resolution of the Vice Presidency of the IEDT regarding the extension of the deadline for the resolution and notification of the granting of subsidies under a competitive bidding process, intended as aid in the form of training scholarships. The project is co-financed 85% by the European Union’s ESF+, within the framework of the Employment, Education, Training and Social Economy Program (EFESO Program) for the 2021-2027 programming period.

An extended deadline for dozens of municipalities

The extension decrees, signed in Cádiz on July 27, 2026, by Andrés Clavijo Ortiz, are referred to the National Subsidy Database (BDNS) for publication, in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17. The extension affects dozens of municipalities in the province and thousands of training scholarship applicants.

Municipalities and deadlines

The resolution and notification deadline is set as follows:

  • Until November 5, 2026, inclusive: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, Chiclana de la Frontera, Puerto Real, Algeciras, Algeciras disadvantaged areas, La Línea de la Concepción, Los Barrios, San Roque, Tarifa, Jimena de la Frontera, Castellar de la Frontera, Barbate, Conil de la Frontera, Paterna de Rivera, Medina Sidonia, Vejer de la Frontera, Benalup-Casas Viejas, Alcalá de los Gazules, San José del Valle, Arcos de la Frontera, Bornos, El Bosque, Espera, Grazalema, El Gastor, Villamartín, Prado del Rey, Ubrique, Olvera, Algodonales, Alcalá del Valle, Puerto Serrano, Benaocaz, Chipiona, and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
  • Until December 5, 2026, inclusive: municipality of Cádiz.

Regulatory framework and financing

The grants are awarded under a competitive bidding process and are part of the “Empleo Cerca” project, a Provincial Council initiative aimed at bringing training and employment closer to the municipalities of the province. European co-financing, through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), reaches 85% of the cost, within the EFESO Program for the 2021-2027 period. Each municipal call has its own identifier in the BDNS, where the full text of the resolution can be consulted.

The extension of the resolution and notification period provides the managing body with more leeway to process applications and notify beneficiaries of the resolutions, preventing the volume of files from compromising timely resolution. For applicants of training scholarships, the measure provides greater certainty regarding the resolution deadlines for their grants within the framework of a key employment program in the province of Cádiz.
